University gives gardeners a high tech tool

The University of California Cooperative Extension launched a new Web site to serve as an information portal for California gardeners. The UC Statewide Master Gardener Program staff designed the Web site to organize and extend the university's vast store of research-based information about gardening, landscapes and lawns to the public.

Visitation for Charles House, 79, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd. in Turlock. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, also at Turlock Funeral Home. Private internment will take place at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery. Charles House passed on the morning of June 21, 2009.

Council should spend time and energy on real problems

This is almost too funny. I'm starting to think that Turlock Council meetings are more entertaining than watching regular prime time shows. (Councilmember Ted) Howze has ALL sorts of things swirling around, and yet... he wants to find the time and money to see if (Councilmember) Mary Jackson leaked the name of the people who were applying for the city manager job? I get that it's probably a breach of ethics... but shouldn't OTHER problems facing Turlock take up our time and energy?
