Gus was born in Bridgeport, Nebraska, the youngest of 3 sons in a family of 11. His parents Tom and Emphilia Mouzes moved the family to Turlock, CA in the 1940's. Gus graduated Turlock High. Gus played football on the undefeated State Championship squad of 1949. In the Navy he served on the USS Rainier (Korea). In December, 1952 Gus met his future wife Lauretta they married in 1954. Duane Jenkins

Duane Jenkins of Turlock, California (previously of Auberry) has passed away. He taught in elementary schools for 38 years in Riverdale, McKittrick, and Auberry. He retired in 1988. He was an athlete and coach. Duane was also an active member of Lions Club International for many years and after retirement was involved with the Sierra Oaks Senior Center. He was a faithful member of the church of Christ. Margarite Gaynell Baker

Born and raised in Oklahoma, she came to California about 1947, living in Cressey and Delhi before moving to Turlock in 1968. Calvary Baptist Church was a very important part of her life where she made many friends, teaching Sunday school, being a Deaconess, and working in the kitchen. She worked very hard, including in the Turlock High School cafeteria. As a 4-H Leader, she taught many girls her passion of Every weekend her home was full of family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Don A. Damas, 64, died. Fri. Nov. 17, 2017 in Abilene, KS. He was born Nov. 10, 1953 in Patterson, CA, the son of George F. and Lucille D. (Pierce) Damas.
