Warren "Bud" Nelson, 94, lived a long life and went to be with Jesus on Christmas Day. Born in Wilmar, Minnesota at home in 1923, Bud was the youngest of 4 children. The family moved to California while Bud was still a toddler. Bud, a dairyman for over 50 years, was a "country boy" through and through. Leaves belong in the green garbage can, not the storm drain

As leaves begin to fall from the trees and cover the yard, the City of Turlock wants to remind residents, businesses, churches, and landscape companies the importance of their proper disposal. Leaves and debris deposited into the gutter begin to collect in and around the storm drain, restricting the flow of water and causing street flooding and storm water pollution when it rains.

MaryAnne Aldrich passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children. She was born January 31, 1926 in Denair, California to Helen and Elmer Carr. She lived her whole life in the Hughson area, attending Gratton Grammar School and graduating from Hughson High. She married her high school sweetheart Everett Aldrich in 1944. They enjoyed 71 years together until his passing in 2015.

County department computer system compromised

The Stanislaus County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services computer network was compromised on Tuesday by malware in the form of a ransomware attack, according to County officials. The network has been shut down and isolated from the County-wide network while online services and communication are being provided by other means temporarily, and client care has continued.
