Don A. Damas, 64, died. Fri. Nov. 17, 2017 in Abilene, KS. He was born Nov. 10, 1953 in Patterson, CA, the son of George F. and Lucille D. (Pierce) Damas. Don grew up in and around Patterson and attended local schools. On Oct. 21, 1978, he married Renee in Reno, NV; they had a daughter and later divorced.

Alicia Margaret Cochrane

Passed away peacefully on Nov. 20, in Sacramento, CA. Born Dec. 13, 1919, in Sandusky, Ohio. She was raised in Glendale CA before attending USF School of Nursing. She married William Roy Cochrane during WW II, and together they raised their family of three sons in Delhi, CA, growing peaches, almonds and grapes for over fifty years. Alicia was a highly respected school nurse in the Delhi School District for 26 years, retiring in 1986. She moved to Sacramento CA in 2011. U.S. farm exports hit 3rd highest level on record

U.S. agricultural exports totaled $140.5 billion in fiscal year 2017, climbing nearly $10.9 billion from the previous year to the third-highest level on record, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced Thursday. As it has done for well over 50 years, the U.S. agricultural sector once again posted an annual trade surplus, which reached $21.3 billion, up almost 30 percent from last year's $16.6 billion.
