We need Denham to step up and keep guns out of bad people’s hands

Those conversations include "What are you supposed to do when someone comes through our classroom door with an assault rifle intending to slaughter us all?"

Truax wins National Collegiate Discussion Meet

Modesto Junior College alumnus Tim Truax topped stiff competition to become the 2018 Young Farmers and Ranchers National Collegiate Discussion Meet Champion in Reno, Nevada last weekend. The annual YF&R conference attracted over 50 competitors, each one the champion in their home state in order to earn the opportunity to compete.

John Allen O’Bird

John was born in Modesto and passed away at the age of 67 in Ceres. He was a loving and generous man who was always ready to help anyone that needed it. He will be remembered for his tough exterior but extremely soft and loving interior, always ending family conversations with "I love you". John had a very close relationship with his sisters. John enjoyed hunting and was an avid NASCAR fan. He worked as a truck driver for over 25 years and more recently loved his job as a caregiver for special needs adults.
