The Sac-Joaquin Section Division I girls volleyball quarterfinal between Turlock High and Tracy High was supposed to be a continuation of Turlock's successful 2015 campaign and a return to the upper levels of post season competition. Fresh off their first playoff win since 2006 and with powerful weapons on the court, the blue and gold Bulldogs hosted their green and gold counterparts on Thursday with every intention of repeating the preseason performance in which they beat Tracy 3-1.

Pitman High had a fairly successful season last year, finishing third in the Central California Conference with a 6-5-4 record and advancing to the quarterfinals of the Sac Joaquin Section Division I Boys Soccer Playoffs.
Around this time last year, Brady House was gearing up for his third year of Pop Warner football with the Hughson Huskies while preparing for his national debut at the Offense-Defense Youth All-American Bowl in Florida.
Hurdles were always Mallory Patino's forte. Before graduating from Turlock High in 2013, Patino earned a name for herself on the track with three consecutive Central California Conference titles in the 300m hurdles.
