Turlock and Hilmar prepare to relay for a cure

The battle against cancer is something that affects many people, and every year hundreds of community members come together through Relay For Life to raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from the terrible disease. This year, Hilmar and Turlock will host their own community fundraising walks to help find a cure.

Garden club helps downtown Turlock welcome spring

Downtown Turlock is already a beautiful place, but it just got a whole lot prettier. As part of their efforts to beautify the downtown area, the Turlock Garden Club planted stunning displays of flowers in the large, cement pots that decorate Main Street.

Mother, daughter duo donate their locks

Brown Elementary school student Laura Ralston and her mother, Hayley, have been growing out their hair for two and a half years, but not for their own vanity. They chopped off a combined 26 inches of their long, brown locks Friday and donated it to Wigs for Kids, a private, non-profit organization that creates hair replacement systems for children who would otherwise be unable to afford them.
