To help make Christmas enjoyable for all community members, staff at Prodigal Sons & Daughters are hosting an alcohol and drug free event that everyone can participate in, and even adds a little bit of competition to the holiday while raising funds for the local nonprofit.

The Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity at Stanislaus State was able to raise $150 for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in just one day this week during their annual "Jump for Jude" event, which saw members of the fraternity jump on a trampoline in the campus quad for 32 hours straight Nov. 29 – Nov. 30. TKE brothers, like Cristhian Gonzalez pictured, jumped continuously in shifts that are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis, with the trampoline's springs creaking throughout the night. While they jumped, the fraternity members asked students for donations.

The inaugural golf tournament benefiting Jessica's House took place on Oct. 9, and the event's planning committee was hoping to raise at least $20,000 for the grief support center.
