Julien student spells success

Turlock Unified School District student Jovan Hundal is no stranger when it comes to competition. For a second consecutive year, he won the Elementary Spelling Championship on Wednesday, beating out 89 students from Stanislaus County. Event to honor memory of Brandon Koch, raise funds for park renaming

Friends and family of Brandon Koch continue to keep the local skateboarder's spirit alive. A candle light vigil and release of balloons will be held at the Turlock Skate Park at 6 p.m. today in honor of what would have been his 27th birthday. Putting the fun into science

California State University, Stanislaus students brought science to life on Monday when they assisted dozens of 4th, 5th and 6th grade students in a series of science experiments at Osborn Two-Way Immersion Academy. The Denair Lions Club is hoping a few hot cakes can help fill gaps in after-school funding. New program could fill pre-school need

Over 150 Turlock children are waiting for a spot in either Head Start or State Preschool. Hymns to feed children

Last January, Hilmar Covenant Church packed over 300,000 meals for hungry kids around the world through the Christian organization, Feed My Starving Children. HCC will continue its missionary work this January with a goal of packing over half a million meals. Turlock couple share love of all things spooky

First annual Breast Cancer Walk

Dozens of local women walked a mile in pink at the first ever Breast Cancer Walk held in support of the survivors, families and friends in the Turlock community. The walk began at the Emanuel Cancer Center and circumvented the hospital . Participants enjoyed pink lemonade and other refreshments after the end of the walk and were able to sign the survivor board in remembrance of cancer survivors.
