Holiday parade to light up downtown

Christmas in Turlock is all about the parade. The 34th Annual Turlock Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Turlock Firefighters Local and the Turlock Convention and Visitors Bureau, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7. The parade's theme this year is a "California Christmas."

Community unites for Turlock Together

For 17 years, Turlock Together has embodied "goodwill towards mankind" during the holiday season. The organization's efforts continue this year, as the iconic blue barrels used to collect toys and non-perishable food items for low-income families have already been dispatched around town.

Hawks lose chance at finals with sudden death penalty kick

After a long battle ending in two 10 minute overtimes and additional penalty kicks, the Delhi Hawks lost their chance to make the finals, and clench the Division V SJS Section Championship. The Hawks faced the Riverbank Bruins at Riverbank High, and kept up a tie 1-1 game throughout the entire match beginning from the first half.

'Angels!' gives insight into life after death

Local church offers foster children security through handmade quilts

For 13 years, The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has continually offered their consoling services by presenting quilts to those in need. Sandy Mann, a member of the church, said her fellow Lutherans have made quilts for several organizations within the community, including nursing homes and pregnancy centers.
