Proud to be a Husky

I am proud to be a Hamilton Heights High alumna. I know that most people who grow up in truly small towns -like I did in Cicero, Indiana, which had a population of 3,471 in 1990, compared to Turlock's 43,621 the same year -feel a fondness and loyalty to their alma mater long after they graduate, but I have reason to celebrate my Husky affiliation.

Know Your Neighbor: Brad Bates

Brad Bates served two terms as Mayor of Turlock, from 1982-1990. Before heading the Turlock City Council, Bates served many years on the City's Planning Commission. He also has a long family history in Turlock. Currently, Kim Duyst is serving as the Interim Director of Athletics (since July 6) at Stanislaus State, following a promotion to Senior Associate Athletics Director in January. In her current role as the Interim Director of Athletics, Duyst manages the entire operation of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Duyst oversees compliance, athletic academic advising, facilities and game operations, media relations, Student-Athlete Advisory committee, student-athlete leadership, career and life skills and supervises the coaches of sport teams.
