Linda Chandler, 59, passed away Nov. 23 at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson after a brief battle with cancer. Her husband, Bob; daughter, Janielle; mother, Marie; brother, Richard; and sister, Judy of Kansas City, Mo. were at her bedside.
Wanda Mae Gunter Holder, 51, formerly of Turlock, died on Nov. 11, 2009, in Taos, NM, where she had lived for the past several years. She left behind two loving boys who she raised by herself - God bless her soul. She had liver cancer, along with other health problems.
Services for Thomas Adams will be held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 28 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 270 Weber Ave., Patterson.
Melvin Walker, 63, of Tehachapi, died Nov. 21 in Tehachapi. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 2 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3 at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Connie Sue Copeland, 44, of Winton, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 17 in Merced, surrounded by her loving family. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28 at Secondary Baptist Church, 501 Q St., Merced. Inurnment is private.
Joseph Aschwanden, 80, of Turlock, passed away on Monday, Nov. 23 at Emanuel Medical Center. Visitation will be at 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 27 at Allen Mortuary, followed by a funeral at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
Jerry Van Winkle, 52, died Nov. 17 at Doctors Hospital in Modesto. There will be a gathering for family and friends from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30 at 12344 26-Mile Road, Oakdale, in the Recreation Hall.
David Freitas, 84, of Hilmar, died Nov. 17 at Doctor's Medical Center in Modesto. Services have been held. Burial will be at North Hilmar District Cemetery.
Ana Moushoul, 83, of Turlock, died Nov. 21 at Emanuel Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 25 at St. Thomas Assyrian Chaldean Catholic Church, 2901 N. Berkley Ave., in Turlock. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park.
Filomena Garcia, 99, of Livingston, died Nov. 19 at Emanuel Medical Center. Services have been held. Burial will be in Mexico.
Diego Lopez, 41, of Modesto passed away unexpectedly at Kaiser Permanente of Modesto last week. Diego is survived by his parents, Jose and Ramona Lopez of Modesto; and nine siblings.
Roudel passed away with his loving wife, Samrideh, and daughter, Linda, by his side. Roudel was a member of the Civic Club for many years. He enjoyed traveling and having picnics with family and friends. He leaves behind his wife, Samrideh; daughter, Linda; grandson, Ben; and granddaughter, Benita. A special thank you to his cousin Fred Younan, who was more like a brother he has been such a tremendous help to his family.
Jorge Jacome, 88, of Delhi passed in Modesto on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at Doctor's Hospital. He was born in Mexico City, Mexico to Baltazar Jacome and Rose Flores Sanchez in 1921. Jorge lived in Mexico until the age of 21, when he moved to Chicago. In 1943, Jorge moved to San Jose and in 1992, settled in Delhi. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.
Daniel Ray Murphy was born on Sept. 9, 1946 in Modesto and went to into rest on Nov. 19, 2009, after a two-year battle with an illness.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Jesus Tapia, and three children: Jose M. (Sophia) Chavez of Turlock, Rosa (Juan Pablo) Vallejo of Turlock, and Jesus Ventura (Josefa Sanchez) of Turlock; 4 sisters, 2 brothers, and 7 grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
Gerita (Geri) Duree, age 72, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville, Missouri.
Mary Lois Bare, 91, of Hilmar, passed away at Turlock Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mary Lois was born in Arkansas to Julius and Thelma Wegel. She attended schools in Arkansas. After High School graduation she married Charles Bare, a Seaman with the Merchant Marine. They settled in California, first in the Bay Area and then in the Central Valley in 1968. They were married nearly 62 years when he passed away in 2005.
Rodrigo Jose Ortegaray beloved husband, father and grandfather went to be with Jesus this past Monday. Rodrigo was born in Managua, Nicaragua to Gustavo and Maria Ortegaray in August of 1954
She is survived by her sisters Loretta (Larry) Soares of Hilmar, Lorraine Vierra of Hilmar and Jeannie (Rick) Gonsalves of Stevinson; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Bobbie Cheves, 87, of Turlock passed away peacefully on February 18, 2015. Bobbie was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma. When she was young, her family moved to Pittsburg, CA. As a senior in high school, Bobbie moved to Modesto where she graduated from Modesto High School. She married Gene in 1947 and they raised their family in Ceres, CA. After retiring from the Telephone Company, Bobbie and Gene enjoyed traveling and line dancing. She spent the last several years of her life in Turlock, CA.
