Marjorie S. Fischer, 72, passed away at her home after a battle with kidney disease. Private services were held at Turlock Memorial Park.

Rose Mayer, 95, of Turlock, passed away at Paramount Court in Turlock on Oct. 10. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 at Allen Mortuary in Turlock. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, also at Allen Mortuary. A private burial will follow the service.
Ray Moen, 92, of Turlock, passed away Saturday following a brief illness. A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15 at Crossroads Church with a private burial.
Graveside services for Darrel Santos will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 23 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
Yiu-Chan Chan of San Leandro died at the home of his daughter in Ceres on Oct. 10, 2009. Viewing will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Allen Mortuary, 247 N. Broadway, with the funeral service immediately following at 1 p.m.
Armindo Ramos, 46, of Turlock, died Oct. 4 at his residence. A combined rosary and mass is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut Ave., Turlock. Burial will be at North Hilmar District Cemetery.
Mary Small, 75, of Hilmar, passed away at her home on Oct. 9. A small family memorial gathering and private internment are planned.
Sharon Davis, 66, of Turlock, died Sept. 23, 2009, at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.
Jeannette O'Hagan-Valdivia, 56, of Lakeport, Calif., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 4 in Hilmar with her family at her side. There will be a private family gathering at a later date.
Joginder Singh, 60, passed away at his residence in Turlock on Oct. 8, 2009. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15 at Allen Mortuary, 247 North Broadway, Turlock. A Sikh funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 at Allen Mortuary.
Alma-Fae Schreffler passed away on Oct. 1, 2009 in Santa Rosa, Calif. at the age of 85. She was born April 1924 to George and Freda Schreffler in Berkeley, Calif. She moved to Los Angeles as a small child, where she started school. She came to Turlock in 1934, and attended the old Lourel School. She moved to the Santa Rosa area in 1939, and made her home there since that time.
Shamsher Kaur Sahota, 76, left for heavenly abode on Oct. 5, 2009. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10 at Allen Mortuary. A funeral service will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11 at Allen Mortuary, with cremation following. Bhog at Gurdwara Sahib Turlock following cremation.

ughson, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center after complications from a recent illness. Janice was born in Turlock's old Emanuel Hospital. She grew up in the Turlock area, graduated from Turlock High School, and married Michael Atwood in 1974 in Carson City, Nevada. In 1978 she helped start the family business, Big Valley Pallet Co. She has worked their ever since that time. Janice loved her family and her cats. She worked with the Hughson Twentieth Century Club to raise funds for the high school.
Robert James Harris, founder of Lander Veterinary Clinic, died peacefully at Covenant Village Care Center on February 21, 2015 at the age of 98.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Jesus Tapia, and three children: Jose M. (Sophia) Chavez of Turlock, Rosa (Juan Pablo) Vallejo of Turlock, and Jesus Ventura (Josefa Sanchez) of Turlock; 4 sisters, 2 brothers, and 7 grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
Gerita (Geri) Duree, age 72, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville, Missouri.
Mary Lois Bare, 91, of Hilmar, passed away at Turlock Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mary Lois was born in Arkansas to Julius and Thelma Wegel. She attended schools in Arkansas. After High School graduation she married Charles Bare, a Seaman with the Merchant Marine. They settled in California, first in the Bay Area and then in the Central Valley in 1968. They were married nearly 62 years when he passed away in 2005.
Rodrigo Jose Ortegaray beloved husband, father and grandfather went to be with Jesus this past Monday. Rodrigo was born in Managua, Nicaragua to Gustavo and Maria Ortegaray in August of 1954
She is survived by her sisters Loretta (Larry) Soares of Hilmar, Lorraine Vierra of Hilmar and Jeannie (Rick) Gonsalves of Stevinson; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Bobbie Cheves, 87, of Turlock passed away peacefully on February 18, 2015. Bobbie was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma. When she was young, her family moved to Pittsburg, CA. As a senior in high school, Bobbie moved to Modesto where she graduated from Modesto High School. She married Gene in 1947 and they raised their family in Ceres, CA. After retiring from the Telephone Company, Bobbie and Gene enjoyed traveling and line dancing. She spent the last several years of her life in Turlock, CA.
