Darlene Edna Crafts ~ 85 of Merced passed away at Emanuel Medical Center on Saturday. Darlene was born in Nebraska to Ernest and Edna Edwards and has lived in Merced for nearly 60 years. Darlene and her late husband Fire Captain John Leonard Crafts ~ aka (Jack) were dedicated to their community. Jack worked for the Merced Fire Dept. for nearly 30 years, retiring in 1981; Darlene was a dedicated employee of the Merced School District, employed for over 35 years, retiring in 1989.
Frances was born in Porterville, Ca to Frank and Arzella DeLaney. She was raised in Porterville and went on to attend nursing school in Sacramento. She met and married Estle Hopkins and moved to Los Banos and then to Turlock in 1969. She worked for Community Hospital and later Emanuel Medical Center until her retirement.
Dr. Jack a. Graves, Professor Emeritus at California State University,Stanislaus, passed away on February 4, 2013. Dr. Graves was born in Sandston, Virginia in 1929. He earned his bachelor's degree, with distinction, from Arizona State University, and his master and doctoral degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In his tenure at CSUS, he was the coordinator of the Reading Specialist Credential Program and advisor to students studying for the M. A. Pritam Sandhar ~ 84 of Livingston passed away at Emanuel Medical Center on Saturday. Pritam was born in Bassi Jalal, India to Banta Singh and Jas Kaur. She has lived in Livingston and the Merced area for the past 15 years. She is survived by her husband Mohinder Singh Sandhar of Livingston; children Amrik Dhillon of Turlock, Paramjit Lidhar and Hardeep Sandhar both of Livingston; seven grandchildren; four brothers and one sister. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Marjorie Miller, 92, of Turlock, passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. Marjorie was born in Texas, one of 6 children born to Mr & Mrs Harrelson. She was raised in Missouri and attended schools in Missouri. She married Charles "Chuck" Edward Miller in Prineville, Oregon in 1945. Chuck and Marjorie and her family ran a commercial fishing business in Kenai, Alaska. She was a housewife and was involved with running the family business for 50 years.
