Kathryn Karp, 78, of Turlock, passed away at her home with her family at her side. She was born in San Francisco to Nick and Mary Loscutoff. Kathryn grew up there and attended San Francisco schools. Although she worked for 20 years as a medical transcriptionist, her great love was to entertain and cook for her family. She also did amazing work with the Chinese craft of Paper Tole.

James “Jim” Frank Ahlborn

James Frank Ahlborn passed on Wednesday at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.
He was born in San Mateo on May 23, 1952. He graduated from Pleasant Hill High in 1970 and earned a degree in Criminal Justice from the University of LaVerne. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Vandenberg Airbase in California. He was a proud member of the California Highway Patrol from 1977 until his medical retirement in 1993.

Marie Priza Dominguez, 95, of Turlock, died Wednesday. She was born in Yuma, Ariz. in 1915.
Marie was a homemaker for 70 years and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Turlock.
She is survived by her daughters, Rosie A. Perez of Turlock and Frances Robles of Los Angeles; sister, Evlalia of Arizona; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous great great grandchildren.

David Contreras Baca, 53, of Patterson, died Thursday at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock. He was born to the late Manuel and Elidia Baca in California. He was raised in Union City and lived in Fremont before he settled in Patterson three years ago. He was a jack of all trades and had a 30-year career as a mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Baca; children, Scott, Vincent, Jesse and Adrianna Baca, all of Patterson; and his brothers and sisters.

Dorothy May Booth

Dorothy Booth, a Turlock resident since 1963, passed away peacefully at Emanuel Medical Center on Wednesday. She was born in Nebraska to the late Thomas and May Sturtevent. She was an elementary school teacher for the Chase County School District in Nebraska for three years. She lived in the Los Angeles area in 1939 then moved to Oakdale in 1953, before she settled to Turlock in 1963. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Turlock.

Alonzo Ibarra, 24, of Turlock, passed away Monday in Newman.
Alonzo was a native of Delano and a current resident of Turlock. He previously resided in Newman for 14 years. He was a student at Modesto Junior College. Joanne Irene Noda Montgomery

Joanne Irene Noda Montgomery succumbed to cancer on Sept. 20 while living at a residential board and care home in Los Angeles, known as "My Mother's Place." She was surrounded by her loving family.
Her long battle against the disease since it was first diagnosed in 2007 made the difference in allowing her to know all of her grandchildren, three of the four of which were all born during the span of this most personal struggle. She endured radiation, chemotherapy and major surgery to achieve this inspiring accomplishment.
