John Ralph Humphrey, 57, passed away peacefully in his home Wednesday evening, Dec. 16. Born May 20, 1952, John will be remembered by family and friends for his enormous heart and amazing sense of humor. A lover of all sports, and particularly his Steelers and Cardinals, John was known to enjoy brief but always "eventful" rounds of golf with his friends.
Victoria went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 18. She was born in Turlock to parents, Edward and Marie Johnson, in 1913. In 1931, she left Turlock and graduated from San Francisco State University in 1948. She taught school for 30 years in Oakland.
Chuck McKibbin, 74, of Turlock, passed away earlier this month. He served in the United States Air Force from 1953-1957. He later married Betty, and together they settled in Turlock in 1973. He worked as the manager of Grants Market and Benos in Turlock and owned a bait and tackle shop before working in real estate. He was a member of the Lions Club, Bass Club, CFC Rodeo and the Turlock Chamber of Commerce, where he served on the board of directors for a time. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping and gardening.
Josefina M. Carranza (Mama-Fina) was called to be with our Lord on Dec. 13, 2009 in San Francisco and reunited with her two beloved sons, Javier (Harvey) and Jose (Chepo) Carranza in the walk of eternal life.
Richard "Dick" Albert Brown, 74, passed away Dec. 10 at Emanuel Medical Center. He was born January 1935 to Raymond and Hallie (Nutcher) Brown in Turlock. He was raised in Escalon and later in Hughson. After he attended Modesto Junior College, he served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. Mr. Brown worked as a salesman for KTUR radio station in Turlock before becoming a police officer for the Modesto Police Department.
Perry Allen Raleigh was born at Emanuel Hospital on April 28, 1935, and raised at 1401 East Ave. in Turlock. He attended Turlock High School and graduated in 1953. He was married to Marie Duhm on July 10, 1955. On Nov. 20, 1956, he joined the United States Air Force. His service took him and his family all over the United States and Europe. He was decorated for his outstanding professional skills, knowledge and leadership along his journey to the rank of Master Sergeant. Edward Roy Munroe, 84, of Turlock, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at English Oaks Convalescent in Modesto. He grew up in Delhi, CA and after he graduated from Livingston High School he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He settled in Turlock in 1993.
Alma Chambers was born in Jefferson City, Missouri to the daughter of Louis and Marie (Renterghem) Loethen. She moved to Turlock where she graduated from THS in 1958 and married fellow grad, Ronald Chambers, on July 24, 1960 at Sacred Heart Church. Alma spent many years as a legal secretary before retiring from the Attorney General's Office in Missouri. She owned Alma's Ceramics in downtown Turlock.
