Myrna Lea (Haile) Johnson, 80, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 1, 2009, after a short illness. She will always be remembered for her lilting laugh. Myrna was born in Haviland, Kansas to W. Oral Haile and M. May (Stotts) Haile in 1929. She started school in Kansas, but in 1938 moved with her family to Turlock. Services for Shamoeil Baba, 71 of Turlock, are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5 at Saint Thomas Assyrian Chaldean Catholic Church, 2901 N. Berkeley Ave., Turlock. It will be officiated by Father Kmal Bidawid. Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
Peggy Green, 73, passed away at home on Nov. 28 with her three daughters by her side. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home, 3050 Winton Way in Atwater. A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, Dec. 10, also at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home, with a burial to follow at Winton District Cemetery.
Ruth Dorris Fliflet Lemos entered into her eternal reward on October 23, 2009, after devoting nearly 60 years of her life as an Assemblies of God missionary to Brazil. Teamed up with her dedicated husband, John, they established a ministry which reached the entire country of Brazil and touched lives around the world.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5 at Turlock Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
J. Guadalupe Mercado, 69, of Delhi, peacefully entered the presence of the Lord on Nov. 27. A viewing is scheduled from 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3, with a holy rosary to follow at 6 p.m. at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd. A mass in his honor will be celebrated at 12 noon on Friday, Dec. 4, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons Ave. in Turlock. Interment will take place at a later date in Jalisco, Mexico.

Bill Green passed away in Marysville, Washington after a long battle with Cancer. Completing his Vietnam tour with the United States Army in 1969, he began a 30 year career in the electronics distribution industry. His work took him to Michigan, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Washington, Oregon and California. He spent 12 years in Turlock. While living there he held the position of Business Manager for The Turlock Salvation Army.
Longtime Turlock/Hilmar resident Emogene Elmquist passed away peacefully at her home on April 12, 2015 at the age of 86, following a short illness.
Violet was born in Idaho Falls, ID and moved to Arkansas as an infant where she spent her childhood before settling in California at the age of 13. On December 15, 1951 she married William "Pat" McLaughlin. She and Pat worked and lived in the Turlock and Denair areas for many years where she worked on the dairy and also for a hatchery. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Ellen Moore of Hilmar, 3 children: Darrell (Donna Bethel) Moore of Modesto, Marlinda (Joe) Inglima of Modesto, and Melissa (Glenn) Miller of San Antonio, TX, 4 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Betty is survived by partner Esther (Rocky) Nelson, sister Bertha Tedsen and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Lily, and brothers Clarence R. Van Norman and Hiram O. Van Norman.
Jamie is preceded in death by his parents, Kay Mason Hammerquist and Bill Mason. Jamie is survived by a daughter Cherie (Brent) Charmbury and 3 grandchildren: Lindsey, Landon, and Elin Charmbury, all of Sacramento; two siblings: Jeffrey (Teresa) Mason of Napa and Kristine (Travis) Ledford of Turlock and his best friend Joey Novack II.
Verne Crowell died peacefully at home on April 3, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 8, 1916 at home on the corner of Monte Vista and Walnut Rd. and died in the home he built on the corner of Monte Vista and Crowell Rd.
Kevin Richard Stach, 75, of Turlock, passed away at his home on April 12, 2105. He was born July 4, 1939 in Nezperce, Idaho. After graduating from high school in Olympia, Washington he came to California and worked at the General Motors plant in Fairfield. When the plant closed and moved to Missouri he relocated there and finished his career with GM. After retiring Mr. Stach moved to Turlock. Kevin was a dune buggy enthusiast and loved working on Volkswagens. He volunteered at the Turlock V.F.W. and enjoyed cooking for their dinners and events.

Her parents, Gus Goza and Ruth Goza preceded her in death a number of years ahead of her. She leaves behind her husband Dave Zollinger of Turlock, CA; a son Robert Zollinger of Modesto, CA; a daughter Ruth Zollinger of Monterey, CA; and two grandchildren David G. Zollinger and Kara Zollinger. All of the family will indeed miss her. They so deeply loved their wife, mother and grandmother.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elsie in 2010, and a brother, Wallace Carlson. He is survived by his son Steve (Carmen) Silva of Delhi, granddaughter Ally Silva, and many extended family and friends.
Monica is survived by her three children Roxanne Jimenez, Lawrence Jimenez, Anthony and Martinez; and six grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Monique Martinez.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Fox; children, Dr. Donald (Brenda) Fox, Douglas (Kim) Fox, Richard (Sheri) Fox, Jean Costa, Jamie (James) Myers, Janae Costa, Justin (Ashley) Costa, as well as 7 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind siblings, June Vandergriff, Marian (John) Alves, Shirley (Kay) Kajiwara, David (Sandra) Fox, and Michael (Beth) Fox.
Cindy is survived by nephew Kevin Shute; nieces Becky Mcevoy and Nellie Shute; 8 great nieces and nephews; 17 great great-nieces and nephews. Cindy is preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Lois Brownlow; sister Penny Irene Shute and niece Lisa Sears.
Barbara was born on the Lundell homestead in May 1919, to Henry and Lydia Lundell. She and her three brothers, Kenneth, Jerry and Glenn grew up on the ranch, riding in horse and buggies to and from school and church. They also formed a small band, since music was such an important part of their youth.
