Mary Katherine Ruff

Mary was born in Columbus, Ind. to parents Harry and Dorothy Vogt in 1934. She attended Lutheran schools as a child. In 1951, she married Vern Purtlebaugh and they had two children, Vern and Darlene. Mary and Vern divorced and she later married Bill Ruff in Indiana. They were married for 56 years. She enjoyed dancing and taking care of her home.

Donald Calvin Yingling, 84, of Turlock, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center. Donald was born in Sandwich, Ill. to Oscar and Minnie Yingling. As a young man he entered the U.S. Navy, serving in the South Pacific during WW II. He took great pride in serving his country.

Barbara Dee Woodral, 66, passed away on July 7 in Crescent City after battling cancer. She was born on Aug. 3, 1943 in Durante, Okla. and resided there until the age of 13. Barbara then moved to California where she spent the rest of her life. She met her husband, Bob, in high school, and they later had three children together. Dennis was raised in Modesto and graduated from Thomas Downey High School in 1966. In high school, Dennis was athletic and was on the football and track teams. He lived in the Modesto/Turlock area until 2000, when he settled in Hilmar. Later in life, he was an avid outdoorsman.

Owen Ford, 92, passed away at Emmanuel Hospital on June 30. He was born in Moody, Texas and was in the Army for 20 years. He was in the 5th Horse Calvary and served in George Patton at Ft. Clark, Texas and later under General MacArthur in the Pacific War. He then served in the Korean War. While stationed in Ft.
