Michael Leedom, 61, passed away on July 9 at home in the company of his loving wife, Barbara. Mike was a steadfast member of the Society of the Friends of Bill W. for 24 years. Delores Russell Overlock

Delores Russell Overlock passed away on Friday, Aug. 6 at Community Regional Hospital in Fresno. Delores was born in 1932 in Calexico, the fourth child born to Steve and Nellie Russell. She graduated from Madera High School in 1950. She spent a good deal of her working life as a waitress at restaurants, including over 30 years at several Denny's restaurants. She retired from working after 15 years as a Wal-Mart People Greeter in Turlock. She enjoyed being around and talking with people.

Patrick John Trevethan, 47, of Santa Barbara, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 1 after a courageous seven-month battle with cancer. He was born in San Jose and grew up in Carpinteria before moving to Turlock in 1981 to attend CSU Stanislaus and compete in track and cross country. John Donley, 87, of Modesto, passed away at his home two days before his 88th birthday. He was born in Othello, Wash. to John M. and Marie Donley. Mava Charlotte Sapp passed away peacefully on Aug. 6. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mava was born in Oklahoma, moved to Texas, and attended West Texas A&I. Elsie Marie Carlson

Elsie Marie Carlson, 79, passed away at Brandel Transitional Nursing Center in Turlock on Aug. 6. Elsie was born in Ferndale to Joseph and Angelina Ferreira. She attended Orland Joint Union Elementary School and Del Puerto (Patterson) High School. She married William on Feb. 24, 1962 and moved to Delhi where they farmed grapes and almonds. She was a member of the Turlock Friendship Club and an active member of the St. Jude Catholic Parish in Livingston. She loved shopping, manicures, and spoiling her granddaughter.

Refugio A. Avila

Refugio Avila passed away in Livingston on July 31. He was born in Tlatenango, Zacatecas on Sept. 7, 1920. He moved to the United States from Mexico, leaving behind his wife, Maria Abigail Del Real Avila and two children through the Bracero Program. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad Company that took him to Illinois, Texas, Oregon, Washington, and California. He later worked for the U.S. Forestry Department in Oregon. When he came to live in Livingston, he worked for Perkins Rose Company in Newman.
