Lila Hernandez, 85 of Livingston, died Jan. 28 at U.C. Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Rosary will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main Street. Burial will be private.
Gordon Miller Runner was born on Nov. 7, 1926 in Spokane, Washington, the seventh of twelve children. He is survived by his wife Roberta; his sisters Ellen Seaborn, Muriel Brown, Lila Lohman, Jean Bird, Thelma Reinhard, and Wilma Thompson; his brother Bruce; a daughter Rhonelle Pillsbury; a niece Charlene Worley; a grandson Glenn Gordon Pillsbury; and a large number of other nieces and nephews. His parents Bert and Eunice Runner moved their family to Delhi in 1934 where they raised almonds and grapes as primary crops. Jose Garcia, 99, of Ceres, passed on Feb. 2 in Modesto. He was born in Michoacan, Mexico to Juan and Maria Garcia in 1910. He lived in Ceres for the last six years. Jose enjoyed singing and taking care of family and friends in their time of need but, most of all, God and family were his life.
Earlie Lorene Nunn, 95, passed away peacefully Feb. 3 at the Bel Air Lodge in Turlock. Earlie was born in January 1915 to the late George and Sena Deckard in Missouri. She moved to Turlock in 1935. She loved to garden, and she enjoyed fishing and quilting. She also loved cooking and would always have her family try a new recipe.
Julia Eaton was born in South Dakota to parents, John and Myrtle Jira, in 1911. She met and married Claude in 1931, while still in South Dakota. In 1942, they moved to Stanislaus County to finish raising their family. She was a member of the Turlock Free Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting and sewing. She loved her family.
Ronald "Brett" Huff, 47, of Ceres, died Jan. 22 in Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, at Jim Medeiros', 520 West Main St., Crow's Landing. Burial will be private.
Mary Lillian Jones Beers, 63, of Ceres, passed away Jan. 31 at KU Medical Center in Kansas. Mary moved to California in 1971 and owned Mary Beers Barber shop in Turlock for 15 years. She belonged to the Ceres Missionary Baptist Church. She recently moved back to Kansas to spend time with her parents, Aubrey and Dolly Jones.
Helen Williamson, 86, of Turlock, died Jan. 30 in Turlock. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 8 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Service. Burial will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
