Elton Euclid Sawyer died Sunday, October 14th one day after his 96th birthday, peacefully at home. He was born to Curtis and Edna Sawyer in Norfolk, Virginia and led a full, active and zestful life until the very end. Elton was a police officer for the City of Los Angeles for 26 years. Upon retirement from LAPD, Elton and his wife Ulla Vivan (Vickie) had the opportunity to travel the high seas as staff for many cruise lines. Dorothy Audas, 82, of Hilmar, passed away at her home after an extended illness. Dorothy was born in Arkansas. She was one of six children born to George and Lillie Smith. The family moved to Gilroy, California in 1937 looking for a better life working with the WPA. Later they moved to Emeryville, Waterford, and then settled in Hughson. Dorothy worked for several years in the production of Mother's Cookies. Later she and her husband owned an optical shop in Hilmar. Dorothy was a beautiful person with a heart for God and for people around her.

Lloyd "Don" Ballard, 85 of Turlock, California, passed away on September 6, 2012 due to a long illness. Don was born on January 25, 1927 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In January of 1945, he left school during his senior year to serve his country in World War II as a Navy Seaman First Class. After his service ended Don returned to Turlock High School and graduated with the class of 1947.

Margaret Eleanor Johnson, 93, of Turlock, died at Covenant Village Care Center. She was born in Turlock to Carl and Nimie Danielson. Margaret married Stanley Clifford Johnson. They were married 64 years before his passing in 2008. She is survived by two children: Patricia (Ronald) Mathews of Dinuba, CA and Jerry (Sally) Johnson of Yuba City, CA, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Norma Navigato, 72, of Turlock, California, died August 25, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Modesto. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to William and Rose Navigato. She graduated from Fenger High School in Chicago in 1958. She moved to Southern California around the age of 30 and belonged to the Young Ladies Institute. She settled in Turlock in 1977 and belonged to Monte Vista Chapel. She enjoyed novels, watching Dr. Phil, Judge Judy, and spending time with her family.
Dorothy L. Hammond, 91, passed away at Paramount Court in Turlock. She was the third of four children born in Archer County, TX, to Myla and John Mark Towles. Her siblings were older brother Raymond, who died while piloting a plane during WWII, older sister Rena, now deceased, and younger sister Marklene, who died as a child.
