N. Joseph Falany Jr., known by friends and family as "Papa Joe," went to glory to be with the Lord on December 7, 2012 at the age of 91. A memorial celebration service is being held on Saturday January 5 at 1 p.m. The service location is the Mariposa Senior Center, 5246 Spriggs Ln. in Mariposa, Ca. (Barbara) Savon Edwards, 88, passed away peacefully December 9, 2012 in Delhi, CA surrounded by her family after a short illness. Savon was born April 30, 1924 in Fairfax, Virginia to Samuel Richards Riggles and Helen Elizabeth Jones, their sixth child of eleven children. She married Harold Edwards and they were married until Harold's passing December 26, 1999.
Ken Shook, 85, of Turlock, passed away at Turlock Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. Mr. Shook was born in Hanford, CA to Charles L. and Edna L. (Billingsley) Shook. His father was a minister and the family moved around. Ken went to work at Mare Island while he was in high school. Randall Jones, 57, of Turlock, passed away suddenly following a long illness. He was born in Sacramento, CA to Creighton and the late Shirley (Roach) Jones. He attended Livermore schools before graduating from Santa Cruz High School. He graduated from Cal. State Stanislaus and completed some graduate studies as well. In 1995 he suffered the traumatic loss of his daughter Kimberly Dawn Jones in a car accident, which was a devastating loss.

Juanita Lynn Aschwanden, 64, of Turlock passed away with family by her side on Saturday, December 1, 2012. Born on August 21, 1948, she lived most of her life out in the country in Turlock. After graduating from Turlock High School in 1966, she worked as a hair dresser and married Richard Aschwanden of Turlock. Having three children, Tamara Avina, Renee Raposo, and Daren Aschwanden, the couple enjoyed a loving and strong marriage of 45 years. Most of Juanita's career was spent as an Instructional Aid for Special Education at Turlock High School.
Visitation for Eberheart Anderson, 86, of Turlock will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 5 at Allen Mortuary. Burial and military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 6 at Turlock Memorial Park.

He grew up in Turlock and graduated from Turlock High School in 1953. She grew up in the Turlock area, graduated from Turlock High School, and married Michael Atwood in 1974 in Carson City, Nevada. In 1978 she helped start the family business, Big Valley Pallet Co. She has worked their ever since that time. Janice loved her family and her cats. She worked with the Hughson Twentieth Century Club to raise funds for the high school.
Robert James Harris, founder of Lander Veterinary Clinic, died peacefully at Covenant Village Care Center on February 21, 2015 at the age of 98.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Jesus Tapia, and three children: Jose M. (Sophia) Chavez of Turlock, Rosa (Juan Pablo) Vallejo of Turlock, and Jesus Ventura (Josefa Sanchez) of Turlock; 4 sisters, 2 brothers, and 7 grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

Mary Lois Bare, 91, of Hilmar, passed away at Turlock Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mary Lois was born in Arkansas to Julius and Thelma Wegel. She attended schools in Arkansas. After High School graduation she married Charles Bare, a Seaman with the Merchant Marine. They settled in California, first in the Bay Area and then in the Central Valley in 1968. They were married nearly 62 years when he passed away in 2005.

Bobbie Cheves, 87, of Turlock passed away peacefully on February 18, 2015. Bobbie was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma. When she was young, her family moved to Pittsburg, CA. As a senior in high school, Bobbie moved to Modesto where she graduated from Modesto High School. She married Gene in 1947 and they raised their family in Ceres, CA.
