Our mother, Mary A. Teixeira, passed away on May 11 at Riverbank Nursing and Rehab Center in Riverbank. She was 84 years old. She was born in Newman and graduated from Orestimba High School. She lived in Modesto for many years before moving to Turlock. DeWayne McCurry
DeWayne McCurry died April 28 at home with his daughter, Roseanne, and his girlfriend, Pat Jackson, and her daughter, Cathy Furchert, at his side. He was a resident of Turlock for 10 years.
Daniel (Danny) Godinez
Danny entered into eternal life on April 12, 2010. Danny was born in Modesto to Estevan and Ruth Godinez. The family relocated to Turlock in 1935. He attended Turlock Grammar School and graduated from Turlock High School in 1952.
Lawrence George Soltero
Lawrence George Soltero was born in Turlock to parents Jesus and Ruth Soltero in 1926. He lived in Turlock all his life and held various jobs including working for the railroad and an ammunition company before settling at the City of Turlock, where he worked for 33 years.

Virginia C. Pacheco, 88, of Hilmar, was born Oct.20, 1921 in Ribeirinha, Terceira, Azores and died on May 13, 2010 in Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.
Mark Anthony Gilbert
Mark Anthony Gilbert, 51, of Atwater, passed away on May 10 at his home in Atwater. He was born in Atwater on March 16, 1959 to the late Hershel and Harriot (Ferris) Gilbert. Mark worked in construction for over 10 years. He leaves behind his daughter. He will be missed.
Irene Lenora Lawton
Irene Lawton, 83, of Turlock, passed away at Brandel Manor after a short illness. She was born in Glenwood City, Wis. to George and Jenny Lacktorin. She was raised on a farm in Wisconsin and graduated from high school in Glenwood City. At age 23 she married Eugene Charles Johnson, who died in November 1958 after nine years of marriage. Ten years later she married Frank Lawton, who also preceded her in death in 1999.
Thomas Joseph Schomburg
Thomas Joseph Schomburg, 58, of Turlock, was born in Lebanon, Penn. to Thomas John and Theresa Katherine Schomburg. After graduation from high school, Thomas enlisted in the Air Force and served in Vietnam. He was a decorated veteran from his military career. His numerous awards included the National Defense Award, Combat Service Award and the Vietnam Campaign Award. Fernando Manuel Lindo, 34, of Turlock, died May 6 in Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 13 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias, 286 West Main St., Turlock. A mass is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday, May 14 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons St. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 13 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park.
Floy Welch
Floy was born in Treat, Ark. and passed away at the Turlock Nursing & Rehab Home in Turlock. She was one of seven children and grew up in Tahlequah, Okla.
Mildred Yvonne Cooley
Mildred Yvonne Cooley, 63, died May 1 at her home in Turlock. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 14 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 15 at New Beginnings Christian Church, 323 Columbia St., Turlock. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Rosa Amaral Belo
Mrs. Belo was born in Ribeira Seca, Sao Jorge, Azores to Manuel and Maria Amaral. She married Joao Nunes Belo in 1944. She moved her family to the United States and came to Livingston in 1967. She resided there until 1983, when she settled in Atwater. Recently, she lived with her son, Emanuel and daughter-in-law, Sonia who cared for her the last years of her life.
Grady Leon Baker
Grady Baker, 85, of Denair, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center on Saturday, May 8. He was born in Panama, Okla. to Jasper and Nora Baker in 1924. Grady was raised in Oklahoma, and at the age of 19, he moved to Dos Palos. He lived in the Merced/Dos Palos area until he settled in Denair in 1981. In his younger years, he was a bartender. For 50 years, Grady was a cowboy. He managed Ken Morrison Ranch in Denair for many years. He enjoyed horses and rodeos. Most of all, he loved his family.

Arthur L. Martin, 90, of Delhi, was born on Jan. 20, 1921, in Maud, Okla. and passed away on June 12 in Merced.
Marvin Ernest Jr.
Marvin Ernest, 67, of Turlock, passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House on Monday. Marvin went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer. Marvin owned and operated AAA Sewing Machine in Modesto for 22 years and was in the business for 45 years. Time with family and riding his Harley were his favorite things. He will be remembered for his gentle manner and deep soft voice. His kindness touched many lives.

Owen Joseph Stauber, 82, of Turlock, passed away Tuesday, June 14 at Emanuel Medical Center.
Louie Joseph Peters
Louie Joseph Peters, 91, of Turlock, died on June 12. Louie was born in Pescadero, Calif. to Manuel and Bazelina Peters. He trained for a year as a professional ballroom dancer by the famous Arthur Murray Dance Studio in the 1940s. Latin ballroom dance was Louie's forte. Louie and his wife of 59 years, Alta, were ballroom dancers and members of the Modesto Ballroom and the VFW.

Bill R. Sousa, 61, of Hilmar, was born on Jan. 17, 1950, in Cinco Ribeiras, Terceira, Azores and passed away on June 11 in Hilmar.
Helen R. Bishop
Helen Ruth (Hunter) Bishop, a native of Turlock, died on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, after a short illness. She was 84.
Michael Wigt
Michael J. Wigt, 24, passed away suddenly and tragically on June 14, 2011. He was born in Modesto to John Wigt and Carlene (Johnson) Wigt on Jan. 12, 1987. Michael had two brothers, John and Samuel.

Marvin Ernest, 67, of Turlock, passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House on Monday.
Francisco Coelho Costa
Francisco Coelho Costa, 87, of Turlock, died June 11 in Turlock. He was born in June 1923 in Altares, Terceira, Azores. He worked in the dairy and food processing industry and was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church of Turlock. He enjoyed gardening and vacationing in the Azores.
Georgia Dean Hocker
Georgia was born in Coalinga, Calif. to Charles and Pearl Mallory in 1919. She enjoyed reading, working on needlework and singing as a soprano in the choir.
Debbie Sue Sensabaugh
Debbie Sue Sensabaugh, 41, of Los Banos, died in a local hospital. She was a native of Modesto and attended Downey High School. Debbie was a homemaker and also worked at an auction yard. She enjoyed dancing and singing with her sisters and family.
Charan Singh
Charan was born in India in 1932 to Guras and Mahen. He worked in India as a farmer before coming to the United States in 1979, with the rest of his family following in 1981.
Fred J. Sigrist
Fred J. Sigrist, 90, passed away June 11 at his residence in Turlock. He was born August 1920, in Switzerland to the late Alfred and Rosa Sigrist. He was raised in Imperial Valley, and lived in Modesto
Dallas E. Smith
A memorial and burial service for Dallas E. Smith will be conducted, at graveside, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 18 under the direction of the Turlock Memorial Park.
