Linda Halsey, 59, of Turlock, passed away in Modesto on May 6 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Ypsilanti, MI to Chris and Catherine Smith in 1950. Linda moved to California in 1980. She met Edward Halsey in 1981, and they married in 1984. They moved to Turlock in 1986. She owned and operated Reaching High Co-op, a learning center for children. Parkash Gill, 64, of Delhi, passed away at Memorial Medical Center on May 5. Parkash was born in India in 1946. In India, Parkash was a teacher and a block officer in the education system. She settled in Delhi in 2008. She was a member of the Livingston Sikh Temple. Parkash loved her grandchildren.

Ronald Lawrence Mead, 75, of Ceres, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. Mr. Mead was born September 1934 in Santa Ana, Calif. to Lawrence and Aldean Mead. He came to Turlock at the age of five, graduating in 1952 from Turlock High School. After he spent eight years in the National Guard, he became a rancher for 50 years. Dorothy Lu Fern Headley was born at home in Meeker, Okla. She was the only daughter of Marvin and Pearl Kimbley. Though she was the only daughter, she was not the only child for the Kimbleys. Dorothy had five brothers, Carl, T. J., Leon, Roy and Harry.

Marvin Ernest Jr.
Marvin Ernest, 67, of Turlock, passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House on Monday. Marvin went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer. Marvin owned and operated AAA Sewing Machine in Modesto for 22 years and was in the business for 45 years. Time with family and riding his Harley were his favorite things. He will be remembered for his gentle manner and deep soft voice. His kindness touched many lives.

Louie Joseph Peters
Louie Joseph Peters, 91, of Turlock, died on June 12. Louie was born in Pescadero, Calif. to Manuel and Bazelina Peters. He trained for a year as a professional ballroom dancer by the famous Arthur Murray Dance Studio in the 1940s. Latin ballroom dance was Louie's forte. Louie and his wife of 59 years, Alta, were ballroom dancers and members of the Modesto Ballroom and the VFW.

Michael J. Wigt, 24, passed away suddenly and tragically on June 14, 2011. He was born in Modesto to John Wigt and Carlene (Johnson) Wigt on Jan. 12, 1987. Michael had two brothers, John and Samuel.

Francisco Coelho Costa, 87, of Turlock, died June 11 in Turlock. He was born in June 1923 in Altares, Terceira, Azores. He worked in the dairy and food processing industry and was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church of Turlock. He enjoyed gardening and vacationing in the Azores.

Georgia was born in Coalinga, Calif. to Charles and Pearl Mallory in 1919. She enjoyed reading, working on needlework and singing as a soprano in the choir.
