Wilma Grewell, 84, of Turlock, passed away on Sunday at Turlock Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Carter County, Okla. to Jesse and Lillie Boothby in 1926. In 1939, her family moved to Bakersfield. Lena Mary Pulido, 81, passed away on April 25 in Hughson at Alexander Cohen Hospice. Lena was born October 1928 in Niles to Joe S. and Anna Pacheco from Santa Maria, Azores. Lena was the youngest of four children, speaking only Portuguese until the first grade. She lived on her family farm in the Hayward area and attended schools in the Bay Area
Margaret Gingrich, 94, of Turlock, passed away at the Covenant Village Care Center on Sunday. She was born in Kansas City, Mo. to Ashley and Margaret Pebbles. Ashley was a minister in the Salvation Army. After her schooling, Margaret spent her working days as a nurse, a teacher of nurses, and the director of the nursing program at Peralta Community College in Oakland. After World War II, Margaret met John Gingrich, a war veteran, in San Francisco. They were married in Oakland in May 1948.

Kenneth Carl Kollmeyer, 62, beloved son and brother, died Sunday in Turlock following a short illness. Born in Salinas, he was a lifelong resident of Ceres. He lived on the farm established and revered by his parents, Bernard Henry Kollmeyer of Buhl, Idaho (deceased), and Marie Kollmeyer of Concordia, Kansas.
Carl Albert Gebhardt, 79, died May 1, at Turlock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Gebhardt was born October 1930, in Chicago, Ill. to Herman and Marie Bohnert. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1951, and was wounded in the Korean War. After discharge he moved to the Bay Area and later moved to Stevinson, before settling in Turlock in 1988.
Isidra "Sheila" Guice of Turlock passed away on Saturday at the age of 80. She was born May 15, 1929, in San Patricio, Texas. She was the second to the youngest child born to Inocencio and Maria Puga.
Ora Almeda Recanati passed peacefully in the home of her niece in Turlock after a long battle with cancer. Almeda had a long career as a surgical nurse in San Jose.
Florence Louise Rauch was born in Flora, Ill. in 1917 to Walter and Anna Klein. She was an avid fisherwoman, loved to travel and enjoyed gardening. She was an excellent mother and homemaker and was a faithful Lutheran. She was a real estate broker and taught real estate for 10 years; she also worked as a substitute teacher for Modesto City Schools.
Iona (Johnson, Sunkler) Carlson, 101, of Turner, Ore., passed away on Tuesday at her home. She was born to Albert and Anna Mack in Rapid City, SD. Iona's father died when she was young and her mother was left to raise the children. She graduated from Rapid City High School in 1926, and married Oscar B. Johnson in 1927. Millie Taylor, 72, of Hilmar, passed away on Wednesday at Alexander Cohen Hospice House with her family at her side. She was born in Oakdale to Edwin and Lula Neilson in 1937. She lived most of her life in Hilmar. She was a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital for about 15 years. Millie enjoyed people and country living. Most of all, she loved God and her family.

Marie Vincent, 76, of Turlock, passed away on Monday at Kaiser Hospital. She was born in Yonkers, NY to Joshua and Mary Sarmas in 1933. At the age of five, her family moved to Flint, Mich. and she settled in Turlock in 1946. In 1948, she was married and had two daughters. Marie met Loren Vincent, and in 1989, married him. Marie was a member of the Berkeley Avenue Baptist Church. She had been saved since she was nine years old.

Marvin Ernest, 67, of Turlock, passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House on Monday. Marvin went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer. Marvin owned and operated AAA Sewing Machine in Modesto for 22 years and was in the business for 45 years. Time with family and riding his Harley were his favorite things. He will be remembered for his gentle manner and deep soft voice. His kindness touched many lives.

Louie Joseph Peters, 91, of Turlock, died on June 12. Louie was born in Pescadero, Calif. to Manuel and Bazelina Peters. He trained for a year as a professional ballroom dancer by the famous Arthur Murray Dance Studio in the 1940s. Latin ballroom dance was Louie's forte. Louie and his wife of 59 years, Alta, were ballroom dancers and members of the Modesto Ballroom and the VFW.

Francisco Coelho Costa, 87, of Turlock, died June 11 in Turlock. He was born in June 1923 in Altares, Terceira, Azores. He worked in the dairy and food processing industry and was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church of Turlock. He enjoyed gardening and vacationing in the Azores.
Georgia was born in Coalinga, Calif. to Charles and Pearl Mallory in 1919. She enjoyed reading, working on needlework and singing as a soprano in the choir.
Debbie Sue Sensabaugh, 41, of Los Banos, died in a local hospital. She was a native of Modesto and attended Downey High School. Debbie was a homemaker and also worked at an auction yard. She enjoyed dancing and singing with her sisters and family.
