Edward Meye, 71, of Denair, lost his battle with cancer at Turlock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born to Edward H. and Elizabeth Meyer in Oakland. After his high school graduation, Edward attended trade school and got his start as an auto mechanic. For many years he ran his own business specializing in the repair of imported cars. In 1958 he married Irene Francis. They were married for 47 years before her death in 2005.

Janelle Noemi Godinez was born on June 28, 1977, in Watsonville to Jose and Amada Godinez. She was the loving sister of Jose, Sandra, Robert, Sophia, Francisco and Daniel Godinez. Marvin Ernest, 67, of Turlock, passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House on Monday. Marvin went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer. Marvin owned and operated AAA Sewing Machine in Modesto for 22 years and was in the business for 45 years. Time with family and riding his Harley were his favorite things. He will be remembered for his gentle manner and deep soft voice. His kindness touched many lives.

Louie Joseph Peters, 91, of Turlock, died on June 12. Louie was born in Pescadero, Calif. to Manuel and Bazelina Peters. He trained for a year as a professional ballroom dancer by the famous Arthur Murray Dance Studio in the 1940s. Latin ballroom dance was Louie's forte. Louie and his wife of 59 years, Alta, were ballroom dancers and members of the Modesto Ballroom and the VFW.

Francisco Coelho Costa, 87, of Turlock, died June 11 in Turlock. He was born in June 1923 in Altares, Terceira, Azores. He worked in the dairy and food processing industry and was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church of Turlock. He enjoyed gardening and vacationing in the Azores.
