Evelyn Soltero, 91, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 13, 2012, with her family by her side at Emanuel Medical Center. She was born February 18, 1921, in Modesto, California to the late William and Mamie Lehmkuhl. Evelyn spent most of her life in Turlock. She belonged to the St. Francis Anglican Church in Turlock, charter member of Women of the Moose where she earned three degrees, V.F.W. Auxiliary, and served Meals on Wheels.

She was married to her husband Louie Ventura for 60 years. Hilda worked for American Thread Company for 20 years until they closed. She retired from Emanuel Medical Center as a cook. Cmdr. Kenneth T. Sanders (1919-2014), pilot US Navy (retired), passed away peacefully on August 31, 2014 in Pensacola, FL. He was born in San Francisco as a 5th generation Californian whose family had migrated to CA in the late 1770's as part of the first overland expedition to the small hamlet of San Diego commanded by Juan Bautista de Anza travelling across the desert from Mission San Javier near Tuscon.
