Jake deBos passed away peacefully the morning of Feb. 24, 2011.
Jake was born in Arnhem, The Netherlands, and immigrated to the United States shortly after marrying his wife of 51 years, Jannette. They moved from Riverside, Calif. to Turlock in 1978, and lived there until his death. Jake was an engineer who worked for Varco Pruden until his retirement. He was very active in both the Turlock Sunrise Rotary and the First United Methodist Church. Dorothy Beers, 80, of Turlock passed away on Feb. 24. She was born on Nov. 17, 1930, in Turlock and was a wife and homemaker for 51 years.

James "Jim" Golden passed away on Feb. 15 in Turlock. He was 96 years old.
Michael Kennemer was born in Texas, the son of James and Peggy Kennemer. The family moved to Alameda, Calif. when Michael was young and he attended school and graduated from Encinal High School in Alameda. He worked for 30 years in road construction as a partner with his father. Together they worked on many roads in the Santa Clara County area. Later he worked as an estimator for Paving Construction Company in the San Jose area.

Gilbert Duax passed away at the age of 92 surrounded by his loving family. A graveside service will be held in his honor at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 28 at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Edward Meye, 71, of Denair, lost his battle with cancer at Turlock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born to Edward H. and Elizabeth Meyer in Oakland. After his high school graduation, Edward attended trade school and got his start as an auto mechanic. For many years he ran his own business specializing in the repair of imported cars. In 1958 he married Irene Francis. They were married for 47 years before her death in 2005.

Denton Palmer, superintendent of Turlock Schools from 1982 until his retirement in 1992, was killed in a bicycling accident last week a few miles from his home on Whidbey Island in Washington.
Genevieve "Vee" Baptista, 97, passed away Feb. 14 in San Diego. Genevieve was born and raised in Hughson to parents Joe and Conceicao Baptista. She married Enos Baptista in 1930, and was married for 55 years until he passed away. In 1940, Enos and Genevieve moved to Los Banos where they started a life of farming. They lived there until they retired to Santa Cruz, where she could be closer to her parents. After living in Oakdale for several years, she eventually moved back to Turlock. Emma Pauline Gioletti, 93, was born in Chowchilla and passed away Friday at her home in Turlock surrounded by her devoted family.
Janelle Noemi Godinez was born on June 28, 1977, in Watsonville to Jose and Amada Godinez. She was the loving sister of Jose, Sandra, Robert, Sophia, Francisco and Daniel Godinez. Janelle is survived by son, Andrew Sanchez. She was a loving aunt to many nephew and nieces. She also leaves behind many friends and relatives. Janelle will be greatly missed.

Geneva J. Chachanian , 68, was born on Jan. 31, 1943, in Al Habaniya, Iraq, and passed away on Feb.20. She was a wonderful mother and the greatest grandmother in the world. She was the greatest loving, caring, nurturing mother, sister, spouse, and most of all a great teacher and a listener.
Lois is survived by her daughter Cindy Lou Brownlow; 3 grandchildren Kevin Shute, Becky Mcevoy and Nellie Shute; 8 great-grandchildren and 17 great great-grandchildren. Lois is preceded in death by her parents Riley and Marvel Burrows; husband Jerry Brownlow; daughter Penny Irene Shute and granddaughter Lisa Sears.
She continues on in each of us: her partner of 20 years, Gary Mohr of Turlock, daughter Martha (Marty) Cody, grandson Ryan Cody-Berry of Turlock, and daughter Denise Cody of Liverpool, NY.
She was a devoted mother, a doting grandmother to five grandchildren, and took the greatest joy in her eight great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her four sons and three daughters. She is preceded in death by her husband, Makhan Singh in 1994.

David (Ted) Theodore Hoy passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on January 29, 2015 at the age of 48. Ted was born on September 3 1966 in Santa Clara, CA to his parents, Hugh Thomas Hoy and Anna Marie Melvin (nee Farr). He graduated from Turlock High School in Turlock, CA, received his undergraduate from California State University, Stanislaus, and subsequently earned his MBA from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Pauline Morais, a longtime resident of Turlock, passed away peacefully at her home on March 19, 2015. She was born on October 21, 1935 in Gustine, CA and was the fourth of five children born to Manuel and Marie Alves. She graduated from Orestimba High School in 1954. Pauline married her high school sweetheart, Sarafin Morais, in 1955. They were married for 56 years.
Sandra "Sandy" Rae Hanson was born on November 10, 1935 in Stockton, California, and entered into final rest on March 10, 2015, after a year and a half battle with pancreatic cancer.
