DeleteJoy L. Adams was born in Taft, California. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Arthur Adams. She leaves her sister Patty Lou Jones and brother-in-law Richard Jones, of Tucson, Arizona. Joy also leaves behind several beloved nieces and beloved nephew, Gary Adams. Joy's friends enriched her life and were always available to help. She thanks them all.
Daniel Nunes, 53, passed away at his Turlock home. Daniel was born at Emanuel Hospital in Turlock. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School, graduated from Hanford High School, and trained himself to become an expert machinist. Daniel was an excellent machinist and had an amazing ability to work with engines. He built a go-cart out of lawn mower when he was a teen. He loved dirt bikes and took every opportunity to go off-road biking. His favorite spots were Newman, Hollister, and LaGrange. As a proud "Papa", Daniel had already introduced his 2 year old granddaughter to motorcycles.
Sofie was born in El Centro, CA to Joe and Josephine Odermatt in 1925 and passed away in Turlock at the age of 88. She had lived in Turlock for most of her life. Sofie enjoyed gardening, baking, and was a good cook. She helped at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and her and her husband Fred were members of the San Joaquin County Swiss Club. Sofie enjoyed participating in all the activities involved with the Swiss Club such as dancing and playing swiss card games.
Tina Frandsen, 50 of Delhi, passed away on January 18, 2014. She was born on Jun 10, 1963 in San Francisco, CA. She moved to this area at age 18, living in Stanislaus and Merced counties, eventually settling in Delhi.
Patricia (Pat) Knapp, 78, of Turlock, passed into God's loving and faithful embrace at Alexander Cohen Hospice House. She was born at Turlock's Emanuel Hospital. Pat will be remembered for her beautiful, caring, compassionate spirit. It was her dream to become a nurse and, after poring herself into her family, she started college and completed college and fulfilled her dream by becoming a Registered Nurse. Pat was an RN who compassionately cared for others for 20 years at Emanuel Hospital.
Sally Isidra Pearson went to be with her Lord on January 10, 2014, at the age of 97. She was born in Salamanca, Spain, and immigrated to the United States at the age of five. She attended schools in Antioch, California. After legal secretarial training in Oakland, she worked at a law firm in the Bay Area until her marriage to Osborne Pearson in 1942.
Julia Marie Acri passed away peacefully, just hours after her 100th birthday. Her spirit was finally at peace after reaching her determined goal to be a centenarian; her son whispered she made it, she could go, and soon after, Julia let the angels take her home.
Our loving daughter, granddaughter, niece and cousin passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2014 just one day shy of her 11th birthday. She loved to sing and dance and had a love for everybody that is unexplainable. She loved to play with her baby dolls and loved Hello Kitty. Dorothy M. Silva, 93 of Modesto passed away on Jan. 12, 2014. She was born in Oakland on July 16, 1920 and spent most of her life living there. In 2000, she relocated to Turlock and then recently to Modesto. Dorothy was a homemaker and was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved very much. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in 2009 and an infant son, Ronald in 1942. Louise was born in Pelican Rapids, MN to Olaf and Ida (Anderson) Rosdahl and passed away at Turlock Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She grew up and attended schools in Pelican Rapids and Sauk Centre, MN. She married Joy Cummings in May of 1936 and the newlyweds felt the call of God to serve Him in the ministry. Joy and his "Darling Snooks" pastored several churches in Minnesota and South Dakota in the early years.
