Our mother, Mary A. Teixeira, passed away on May 11 at Riverbank Nursing and Rehab Center in Riverbank. She was 84 years old. She was born in Newman and graduated from Orestimba High School. DeWayne McCurry died April 28 at home with his daughter, Roseanne, and his girlfriend, Pat Jackson, and her daughter, Cathy Furchert, at his side. He was a resident of Turlock for 10 years.

Irene Lawton, 83, of Turlock, passed away at Brandel Manor after a short illness. She was born in Glenwood City, Wis. to George and Jenny Lacktorin. She was raised on a farm in Wisconsin and graduated from high school in Glenwood City. At age 23 she married Eugene Charles Johnson, who died in November 1958 after nine years of marriage. Ten years later she married Frank Lawton, who also preceded her in death in 1999.

Mrs. Belo was born in Ribeira Seca, Sao Jorge, Azores to Manuel and Maria Amaral. She married Joao Nunes Belo in 1944. She moved her family to the United States and came to Livingston in 1967. She resided there until 1983, when she settled in Atwater. Recently, she lived with her son, Emanuel and daughter-in-law, Sonia who cared for her the last years of her life.
Grady Baker, 85, of Denair, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center on Saturday, May 8. He was born in Panama, Okla. to Jasper and Nora Baker in 1924. Grady was raised in Oklahoma, and at the age of 19, he moved to Dos Palos. He lived in the Merced/Dos Palos area until he settled in Denair in 1981. In his younger years, he was a bartender. For 50 years, Grady was a cowboy. He managed Ken Morrison Ranch in Denair for many years. He enjoyed horses and rodeos. Most of all, he loved his family.
Anna Tsymbal, 90, of Turlock, passed away at Turlock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Anna was born in Vilkhova, Ukraine to Prokip and Anastasia Tsymbal.
