Emma (Erma) Warda Morris, who passed away at the age of 83, was laid to rest on Jan. 20. A Memorial Mass in her honor will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 4 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons Ave., Turlock. Arrangements were entrusted with Turlock Memorial Park and Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Emma's memory to USO.org.

Bobby Lee Defrance, 55, of Coalinga, died Feb. 24. He was a correctional sergeant for 22 years. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 3 at Faith Fellowship in Coalinga. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 4 at Faith Fellowship. Interment will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 4 at Hilmar District Cemetery.

Michael Kennemer was born in Texas, the son of James and Peggy Kennemer. The family moved to Alameda, Calif. when Michael was young and he attended school and graduated from Encinal High School in Alameda. He worked for 30 years in road construction as a partner with his father. Together they worked on many roads in the Santa Clara County area. Later he worked as an estimator for Paving Construction Company in the San Jose area.
