Elsie was born in Crows Landing California on March 27, 1918, and passed quietly in her sleep early on the morning of November 2, 2011. She graduated from Orestimba High School in 1936 and soon after moved to San Francisco to attend nursing school. While in nursing school she met the love of her life, Phil Davis, and they were married in 1940. Dara Doyle-Selby, 50, of Turlock, passed away suddenly and tragically at Emanuel Medical Center. Dara was born to Gary and Rethia Doyle in Trona, California. She moved to Empire at age 3 and she graduated from Beyer High School in 1979. She attended MJC and graduated from Cal. State Stanislaus with a Bachelors' Degree in '83 and added a teaching credential in 1984. Her first teaching position was at Avenal High School. For the last 22 years Dara has taught Physical Education at Chatom Elementary School.

NIIZAWA, JOHNNY CHUICHI passed away on October 11, 2011 in the Fresno Veterans Administration Hospital after a lingering illness. He was born in Turlock, Calif. in the Lillian Collins Hospital on August 9, 1925, the first born of the late Take and Zitaro Niizawa. Johnny leaves behind his wife Yoshiko Kotsubo Niizawa after 60 years and 11 months of marriage. He also is survived by his son Stanley T. Niizawa of Clovis. He was preceded in death by his daughter Janet H. Niizawa, in 1978.

Terrence Eugene McSweeney, age 73, passed away at his home in Turlock on August 25th. Terry was born to Eugene and Bette McSweeney in Oakland, CA. Terry was a graduate of Hilmar High School and lived most of his life in Hilmar and Turlock. Terry had many friends and with his outgoing personality, made friends easily. He had a long career in the construction business, ultimately owning two successful construction firms in the area. When Gordon was seven years old the family moved to Montana where he lived until enlisting in the Army Air Corps in December 1941.
