Donald Carlisle Johnson was born in Berkeley, CA to Arvid and Ethel Johnson. He was the eldest of three sons. The family moved to Idaho, Washington, Indiana, and Ohio during his childhood.
Sally Pearce, 73, of Turlock passed away at Paramount Court Senior Living on Tuesday, December 13. She was born in Modesto to Elmer and Josephine Francis in 1938. She was raised in Modesto, Turlock and Oakland, graduating from high school in Oakland. She had lived in Oakland until 1970, when she moved back to Turlock. Sally was an executive secretary for the CSUS Athletic Department working under several athletic directors. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock. Raymond Hattam, 84, died in Oxnard on Thursday. He was born in San Francisco and attended schools there, later attaining his B. A. degree from University of San Francisco. He later served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Boxer during the Korean War.
Austin Cowan, 85, loved BBQ, ragtime tunes, joking around, and reminiscing about working for "Ma Bell." Born in Hope, NM, to Vera and Audi Cowan, he came of age during the Great Depression. A hard working and determined man, he made a career with the Bell Telephone Company helping advance our nation's communication infrastructure. Austin had an adventurous life with many chapters.
Kirk James passed away after a short illness at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. He grew up in Delhi, attended schools there and graduated from Livingston High School in 1976. Kirk worked for Norcal Nursery and for the last 2 ½ years worked for Wendell Trinkler Jr.
Alice went home to be with the Lord and Savior on Sept 25, 2014. Alice attended the Neighborhood Church of Redding for 30 years and was an active member of Stephens Ministries. Alice lived a full and happy life; she enjoyed shopping, playing cards, QVC and dancing. She was an avid square dancer for many years. She had many wonderful friends.
