Juanita Mutschler, 92, of Turlock, passed away at Covenant Village Care Center. Juanita was born in Elk City, Oklahoma to Clyde and Dosha Wheeler and attended a one room school in Canute, OK. In November of 1938 she married the love of her life, Lewis Mutschler, who preceded her in death in 1990 after 52 years of marriage. They lived in San Jose, CA, moved to Rudy, Arkansas, and finally settled in Turlock in 1982. Juanita was also preceded in death by three siblings: Loyd Wheeler, Violet Stinson, and Joy Wheeler.
Soledad Garcia, 78 passed away on November 12, 2011 after a lengthy illness at Emanuel Medical Center, with family by her side.
Eugene "Gener" Turner, 79 of Keyes, passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House on Friday, November 11th. Eugene was born in Oklahoma to Charles and Frances Walker, and moved to California in 1941, settling in Stanislaus County. Gener has been a faithful member of the Keyes Assembly of God for many years, where she attended with her daughter Jeanette and friends. She was a wonderful, kind, giving and loving mother and friend. She enjoyed crocheting and making things for others.
Long-time Turlock resident and building contractor John Rankin Wallace passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of October 26. Known as "Rankin," he built many homes in the "Bettencourt Estates", "La Mesa Park" and "Peacock Estates" sections of Turlock.

Larry B. Peterson born April 1927 of Hilmar, California passed away Wednesday. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Amy Peterson of Hilmar. He attended Hilmar Schools, graduating in 1945 from Hilmar High School. After High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served 2 years in the Phillippines. Richard William Lopes was born in Hilmar, California to John and Virginia Lopes on May, 19, 1942. He lived there until he enlisted in the US Navy. He married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Forgnone, and they lived in Long Beach while he served. They had two daughters, Leann and Laurie, and they set up their home in Turlock for the next forty years. Richard lost his beloved Carolyn to illness and married Linda Murphy in 2008 where he gained two more children, Lori and Michael.
Elsie was born in Crows Landing California on March 27, 1918, and passed quietly in her sleep early on the morning of November 2, 2011. She graduated from Orestimba High School in 1936 and soon after moved to San Francisco to attend nursing school. Dara Doyle-Selby, 50, of Turlock, passed away suddenly and tragically at Emanuel Medical Center. Dara was born to Gary and Rethia Doyle in Trona, California. She moved to Empire at age 3 and she graduated from Beyer High School in 1979. She attended MJC and graduated from Cal. State Stanislaus with a Bachelors' Degree in '83 and added a teaching credential in 1984. Her first teaching position was at Avenal High School. For the last 22 years Dara has taught Physical Education at Chatom Elementary School.

Richard Allen Root, 89, died September 18, 2014, at Elness Convalescent in Turlock. He was born March 21, 1925, in Los Angeles, California, to Frank and Emma (Berger) Root. At the age of 18 enlisted in the United States Army in the 558th Artillery Battalion. After his Honorable Discharge he settled in Turlock and attended Full Gospel Tabernacle before attending Victory Christian Church in Hilmar. He worked 25 years for Nulaid then retired from Martinez Plywood after 12 years.
