Janelle Noemi Godinez was born on June 28, 1977, in Watsonville to Jose and Amada Godinez. She was the loving sister of Jose, Sandra, Robert, Sophia, Francisco and Daniel Godinez. Janelle is survived by son, Andrew Sanchez. She was a loving aunt to many nephew and nieces. She also leaves behind many friends and relatives. Janelle will be greatly missed.

Geneva J. Chachanian , 68, was born on Jan. 31, 1943, in Al Habaniya, Iraq, and passed away on Feb.20. She was a wonderful mother and the greatest grandmother in the world. She was the greatest loving, caring, nurturing mother, sister, spouse, and most of all a great teacher and a listener.

Burton Nance, 79, of Turlock, was born to Leonard and Willie Nance in Oklahoma City. He was a high school graduate. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He married Patricia Marler in July of 1975. He passed away at Bel Air Lodge Convalescent Hospital in Turlock.
Gayle Norman Pinkney of San Jose passed away unexpectedly at the age of 76 on Feb. 11, 2011 at Kaiser Permanente Hospital at Santa Teresa.
Ricardo Sanchez, Jr. was born on Sept. 13, 1976, in Salinas, Calif. to Irma and Ricardo Sanchez, Sr. He was the loving brother of Miguel, Jose and Sonia Sanchez. Ricardo is survived by his children, Dominic, Gabriel and Andrew Sanchez. He was a loving uncle to Adrian and Leena Sanchez. He also leaves behind many friends and relatives. Ricardo will be greatly missed.
Hazel Lorene Ward, 88, of Turlock, died Feb. 15 in Turlock. She was born in 1922 in Dardanelle, Ark. She was a nurse's aide for 14 years and a member of Free Will Baptist Church of Turlock.
Aiden Loucks lost his battle with RSV on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Valley Children's Hospital in Madera. He was 2 1/2 years old. In that short time he changed our lives for the better and brightened our world. He loved music, dancing, French fries and going for rides in the truck. When he wasn't watching his favorite television show "Wow! Wow! Wubbzy," he loved playing outside and chasing bubbles. He has taken a piece of our hearts to heaven with him and will be missed.

Joann McDuffie, 76, of Turlock, passed away at Brandel Manor. Joann was born in Arkansas to Garner and Lois. At the age of 12 she and her family relocated to Richmond, where her parents found work in the shipyards during World War II. Joann was married in 1959 to Rueal H. McDuffie, a native of Georgia and a Naval veteran of World War II. Rueal was discharged from the Navy at Treasure Island in San Francisco and together they moved to Fremont in 1962, where they settled and raised their three children. Leilah Stone, 96, of Turlock, passed away on Feb. 12 at Bel Air Lodge Convalescent Hospital. She was born in St. Joe, Mo. to Frank and Florence McCumber in 1914. At the age of six, her family moved to Los Angeles. In 1953, she moved to Bishop. She lived in Lakeport for 10 years and then Turlock for about six years. Leilah attended Church of Christ congregations everywhere she lived. She was invited to the 1932 Olympics as a sprinter and played semi-pro softball.
