Aiden Travis Loucks

Aiden Loucks lost his battle with RSV on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Valley Children's Hospital in Madera. He was 2 1/2 years old. In that short time he changed our lives for the better and brightened our world. He loved music, dancing, French fries and going for rides in the truck. When he wasn't watching his favorite television show "Wow! Wow! Wubbzy," he loved playing outside and chasing bubbles. He has taken a piece of our hearts to heaven with him and will be missed.

Joann McDuffie

Joann McDuffie, 76, of Turlock, passed away at Brandel Manor. Joann was born in Arkansas to Garner and Lois. At the age of 12 she and her family relocated to Richmond, where her parents found work in the shipyards during World War II. Joann was married in 1959 to Rueal H. McDuffie, a native of Georgia and a Naval veteran of World War II. Leilah Juanita Stone

Leilah Stone, 96, of Turlock, passed away on Feb. 12 at Bel Air Lodge Convalescent Hospital. She was born in St. Joe, Mo. to Frank and Florence McCumber in 1914. At the age of six, her family moved to Los Angeles. In 1953, she moved to Bishop. She lived in Lakeport for 10 years and then Turlock for about six years. Leilah attended Church of Christ congregations everywhere she lived. She was invited to the 1932 Olympics as a sprinter and played semi-pro softball. Vernon Leon Burrell

Vernon Burrell entered into rest, at the age of 78 years, on Feb. 3, 2011, ending a long struggle with illness. During his career Vernon worked for Fred Harvey Enterprise managing trading posts, hotels and cafes at the Grand Canyon and Cameron, Ariz. He worked for over 50 years in construction and retired as a general contractor. Michael Kennemer was born in Texas to James and Peggy Kennemer. The family moved to Alameda when Michael was young and he attended school and graduated from Encinal High School in Alameda. He worked for 30 years in road construction as a partner with his father. Together they worked on many roads in the Santa Clara County area. Sherry Lee Wayman

Sherry Lee Wayman, 47, of Turlock, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center after a long battle with illness. She was a lifelong resident of this area since she was born in Modesto and lived her life in Stanislaus County. She went to Downey High School in Modesto and was married to George D. Henry for several years. Sherry loved music and loved to sing, she enjoyed casinos, and she loved to ride her Harley. Her family tells how she loved to go to church, too. She also did some commercial cleaning when her health allowed.

Charles Paul Brown

Charles Brown, 53, of Salida, passed away at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. He was born in Oklahoma to Joe and Christine Brown in 1957. Charlie was raised in Hughson and graduated from Hughson High School in 1975. He lived in the Central Valley for most of his life. Charlie enjoyed camping and music, but his passions were motorcycles, motorcycles runs and four wheeling.

Ruby “Jean” Peterson

Jean was born in Erick, Okla. to Oscar and Molly Butts in 1924. She was raised in Texas and later settled in Turlock with her husband Frances Melvin Peterson. Frances and Jean raised their two children in Turlock on property they owned in the country. Jean was very involved in the PTA at Johnson Joint School where her children attended. Mary Lois Bare

Mary Lois Bare, 91, of Hilmar, passed away at Turlock Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mary Lois was born in Arkansas to Julius and Thelma Wegel. She attended schools in Arkansas. After High School graduation she married Charles Bare, a Seaman with the Merchant Marine. They settled in California, first in the Bay Area and then in the Central Valley in 1968. Bobbie Cheves, 87, of Turlock passed away peacefully on February 18, 2015. Bobbie was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma. When she was young, her family moved to Pittsburg, CA. Pete Stavrianoudakis, passed away last Saturday at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 28, 1936 to Pantelis and Maria Stavrianoudakis. He was a lifelong resident of Hilmar, where he attended grammar school and graduated from Hilmar High School. Pete was a farmer in Hilmar for most of his life and was involved with several community organizations including, Hilmar FFA, Valley Tractor Pullers Association, Hilmar Footbal Boosters and was a member of the Hilmar Lions Club since 1968. He was also a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Modesto.

William Joseph Larson “Bill”

Bill was born and raised in Turlock. He graduated from Turlock High School in 1971 and CSU Stanislaus in 1975. Bill was very active in sports throughout his school years, playing basketball and baseball and later traveling overseas with Athletes in Action and Sports Ambassadors. Bill was an evangelist for all of his adult life. He started evangelism classes at Monte Vista Chapel and enjoyed teaching Bible studies.
