Salvador Saavedra, 77, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at his home in Delhi following a brief fight against cancer. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Maria Elena Saavedra; his daughters, Lina and Sandy; his sons, Jaime, Salvador, Oscar and Juan Carlos; 19 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Evelyn Ann Dunlop, 84, passed away peacefully in Modesto with her family by her side after an extended illness. She was born in Turlock to early Swedish settlers, Alvin and Hildur Erickson. Her grandfather, Peter Erickson, served as the first chairman of the board of trustees of Turlock High School when it was founded in 1906.
Malcolm Eddy, 89, died at his home in Turlock. He was born in Hamadan, Iran and spent 35 years working as an accountant for the National Iranian Oil Co. In 1977, he and his family emigrated to the U.S., settling in Turlock. Here he worked as an instructional aide for TUSD for 15 years, and he also worked at Stanislaus County Fairgrounds for 25 years.
Vladimir Antoniuk was born in the Ukraine on Feb. 13, 1935. At the age of three, his family moved to Argentina and he later immigrated to the United States in the early 1960s at the age of 24, where he attended seminary in Chicago. His first marriage was to Betty Yakimow and they adopted their first son, Daniel, in the late 60s.

Born July 19, 1930 in Oakland, Bob served 4 years in the US Naval Reserve from 1948 – 1952, during the Korean War. Born in Oronogo, Missouri August 27, 1934 to Carroll and Maude Weathers, she spent much of her childhood in Bisbee Arizona before her family moved to Los Angeles following the death of her father. There, She graduated from Manual Arts High School, and attended college at Bob Jones University in South Carolina, where she began dating Donald Shaw. They married in 1955, and settled in Turlock in 1962 after Donald had completed his Masters at UCLA .

Joyce, as she was known to her family and friends, was born February 4, 1933, to Henry and Marie Schoonhoven (nee Hoogeveen) in Steen, MN. At the age of 9, she moved with her family to Ripon, CA, graduating from Ripon High School, to begin work as a secretary and later an office manager for various locally owned companies.
