Sulakhan Singh

Sulakhan Singh, 93, of Livingston passed away Saturday, Jan. 29 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. He was born in Pakistan to Mukhand Singh and Maha Kaur in 1917. Sulakhan was a farmer in Punjab, India for most of his life. He immigrated to Livingston in 2008, and was a member of the Livingston Sikh Temple. God and family were his life.

Ramon Morales-Ortiz

Ramon Morales-Ortiz, 75, of Turlock passed away at Emanuel Medical Center. He was born to Santiago and Amalia Morales in Tabasco, Mexico. He grew up and attended school in Mexico. As a boy he learned to fish with his father. Through the years he has been a commercial fisherman and he still enjoyed sport fishing with family members. Ramon enjoyed his family; he loved to visit, have family gatherings, and go to the casinos with them. He will be greatly missed.

George “Gabby” Dellis

George "Gabby" Dellis, 81, passed away to be with the Lord on Wednesday. He was born in December 1930. He was known as a professional baseball player, cowboy, and veteran. He was a member of the RCA and a professional plumber for 30 years. Gabby had many passions in his life, and the greatest was spending time with his loving wife, family and friends.

Edward Davis, 84, of Denair, was born in Anadarko, Okla. to Lee and Faith Davis. He started his schooling in a one-room schoolhouse in Oklahoma. Judith Marie Stapleton

Judith Marie Stapleton, 69, of Denair, passed away on Jan. 13. She was born in April 1941 in Minneapolis, Minn. She moved to Sioux Falls, S.D. as a young child. She graduated from high school in 1960, and went on to become an airline attendant. She later worked in collections for 25 years. In 1994, she moved to California to be closer to her family.

Jose Inocente Leal

Jose Leal was born in Mexico to Trinidad Leal and Ramona Salinas. Eighteen years later Jose came to the United States and became a U.S. citizen. Jose settled in Delhi in 1951.

Edgar "Eddie" Robinson, 75, of the Central Valley, died Jan. 21 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock. He was born in Oakland and lived in Southern California until he moved to Northern California in 1978. Eddie settled in Modesto in 1985 and lived just a few days in Turlock before he passed away. William Eugene Hill

William Hill, 88, of Turlock, passed away at his home on Tuesday. Bill was born in Marlow, Okla. as one of 11 children born to General and Mina Hill. He grew up and graduated from high school in Marlow, Okla. and later served in the Army overseas during World War II.
Bill is survived by his wife, Lee Hill of Turlock; and daughter, Jeanne Hill of North Hollywood.

Leroy Darin Frye

Leroy Frye, 46, of Turlock, passed away on Thursday. He was born in Sunnyside, Wash. to Melvin J. Frye, Sr. and Deana J. Frye. When he was 1 year old the family moved to Anderson, Calif., and then moved to Happy Valley when he was 11. As a teen Leroy responded to a challenge to learn auto mechanics. Annie C. Ellis, 92, of Turlock, died Thursday morning after a long illness.
She is survived by her children, Roy B. Ellis and Joy Rinehart; and brothers, Eddie Homer and Bob Homer. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Burton Ellis; parents, John and Florence Homer; and sister, Lillian Conner.
An interment service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at Chapel of the Flowers Mausoleum at Turlock Memorial Park.

Mary Lois Bare

Mary Lois Bare, 91, of Hilmar, passed away at Turlock Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mary Lois was born in Arkansas to Julius and Thelma Wegel. She attended schools in Arkansas. After High School graduation she married Charles Bare, a Seaman with the Merchant Marine. They settled in California, first in the Bay Area and then in the Central Valley in 1968. They were married nearly 62 years when he passed away in 2005.

Bobbie Cheves, 87, of Turlock passed away peacefully on February 18, 2015. Bobbie was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma. When she was young, her family moved to Pittsburg, CA. As a senior in high school, Bobbie moved to Modesto where she graduated from Modesto High School. She married Gene in 1947 and they raised their family in Ceres, CA. Pete Stavrianoudakis

Pete Stavrianoudakis, passed away last Saturday at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 28, 1936 to Pantelis and Maria Stavrianoudakis. He was a lifelong resident of Hilmar, where he attended grammar school and graduated from Hilmar High School. Pete was a farmer in Hilmar for most of his life and was involved with several community organizations including, Hilmar FFA, Valley Tractor Pullers Association, Hilmar Footbal Boosters and was a member of the Hilmar Lions Club since 1968. He was also a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Modesto.

William Joseph Larson “Bill”

Bill was born and raised in Turlock. He graduated from Turlock High School in 1971 and CSU Stanislaus in 1975. Bill was very active in sports throughout his school years, playing basketball and baseball and later traveling overseas with Athletes in Action and Sports Ambassadors. Bill was an evangelist for all of his adult life. He started evangelism classes at Monte Vista Chapel and enjoyed teaching Bible studies.
