Harvey Humphrey

Harvey Humphrey, 85, of Modesto, passed away at Evergreen Rehabilitation Care Center. He was one of 11 children born to Joseph and Bertha Humphrey in Rupert County, Ark. In the late 30s they moved to California. He joined the Army in 1943, and served in World War II. After the Army, Harvey added some college classes. He was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the NRA and a former member of the VFW.

Melvin Guy Wilson, Sr.

Melvin Wilson, Sr., 77, of Turlock, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center on Tuesday. He was born in Liberty County, S.C. to the late William H. and Lula Wilson. He grew up and attended school in Liberty County. In 1952, Melvin met his lifetime partner, Joy Williamson of San Francisco at the San Jose skating rink and they married the following year.

Doris Rohde

Doris was born in Santa Rosa, Calif., the daughter of Hubert and Eppie Comstock.
She was a graduate of the University of the Pacific. Doris taught for 30 years in the Ceres Unified School District, primarily at Caswell School. She was a charter member of the Persephone Guild in Ceres, and a member of the Ceres First United Methodist Church. She was a lover of gardening, baking and her great grandchildren.

Dorothy Booth, a Turlock resident since 1963, passed away peacefully at Emanuel Medical Center on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010.
She was born in Nebraska to the late Thomas and May Sturtevent. She was an elementary school teacher for the Chase County School District in Nebraska for three years. She lived in the Los Angeles area in 1939, then moved to Oakdale in 1953 before she settled to Turlock in 1963. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Turlock.

Harold Wesley Duncanson

Harold Duncanson, 91, of Modesto passed away at Doctor's Hospital on Oct. 10. He was born in Sparta, Wis. to Walter and Josephine Duncanson in 1919. He lived in the Modesto area for 57 years. Bakhsish Kandola, 93, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Merced.
He was born in India on April 2, 1917 to the late Bathan Singh and Name Kaur. He settled in Atwater 22 years ago and started his career in farming. He belonged to the Livingston Sikh Temple.

Patricia Baptista, 68, of Turlock passed away at Brandel Manor on Monday, Oct. 11. She was born in Riverside, Calif. to Jack and Grace Murray. She was raised in Southern California and lived in the Turlock area for 48 years. Patricia worked for Safeway throughout the Central Valley for 35 years, ending her career as an assistant manager. Alta Rogers, 86, of Turlock, passed away at Paramount Court on Monday. She was born in Kansas City, Mo. to Charles and Alta Galyen. Her family lived in Illinois and moved to California when she was a young girl. Alta graduated from Los Angeles High School.

William Lee Hopkins

William Hopkins, 66, of Denair, passed away at Memorial Medical Center on Friday. He was born in Indianapolis, Ind. to John and Willie Hopkins. He grew up and went to school in Indianapolis. It was in Indiana where he met Shirley Brown and they were married in 1964. Together they raised two children. William and Shirley moved to California in 1980, and settled in Denair. He worked as a mechanic for Garton Ford Tractor for 30 years. William was a generous, fun-loving man who enjoyed meeting and talking with people. He also enjoyed the casinos. Ron Enos

Ron "Ronnie" Enos passed away peacefully on April 4, 2014 in his sleep at home after a short battle with cancer surrounded by those he loved. Ron and his wife Pam resided at "Enos Ranch" here in Mariposa for the past 12 years after moving from Oakdale where he lived for 26 years. He retired from Lawrence Livermore National Lab in 2001, as a Lab Assistant. Ron also operated Big Oak Stables for 17 years in Cull Canyon.
