Donna Bartholomew, 74, of Turlock, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center. Donna was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin, to Arthur Elmer "George" and Abigail Elizabeth Tessmer. She grew up and attended schools in Wisconsin before the family moved to Vallejo, CA in 1953. She graduated from Armijo High School in Fairfield. Fern Swanson, 90, died Thursday, February 2, 2012 in Turlock, California following a long illness. She was born and grew up on a farm west of Turlock. She attended Washington Grammar School, Turlock High School, and Modesto Junior College. She worked side by side with her husband, Elwood Swanson, in the early days of establishing what would later become the Swanson Farms/Associated Feed family of companies. Jeffrey Buck was born and raised in Turlock, Ca. and passed away on February 3, 2012 in Redding, Ca. He was an avid outdoors-man who loved fishing. Survivors include his wife Gina, 3 children, his mother Charlene Buck, brother Randy Buck, Sister Theresa Poot, and nieces and nephews. A hard working and determined man, he made a career with the Bell Telephone Company helping advance our nation's communication infrastructure. Austin had an adventurous life with many chapters.
Kirk James passed away after a short illness at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. He grew up in Delhi, attended schools there and graduated from Livingston High School in 1976. Kirk worked for Norcal Nursery and for the last 2 ½ years worked for Wendell Trinkler Jr.
Alice went home to be with the Lord and Savior on Sept 25, 2014. Alice attended the Neighborhood Church of Redding for 30 years and was an active member of Stephens Ministries. Alice lived a full and happy life; she enjoyed shopping, playing cards, QVC and dancing. She was an avid square dancer for many years. She had many wonderful friends.
Maria M. Nunes, 77, of Turlock, passed away Wednesday, October 8. Also known as Mary, she was born September 23, 1937 to Francicso and Maria Freitas on the island of Terceira in the Azores. She married Jose "Joe" C. Nunes in 1956 and they immigrated to the United States in 1968 with their children, Alfred and George. Mary loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress.
