Jeffrey Mark Gioletti passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, April 27th, at the age of 46. He was born in Turlock and grew up on the family dairy where he became a skilled farmer working beside his father Ronnie. He attended Mt. View, Chatom Elementary, and Turlock High School.
Our mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed peacefully into her heavenly father April 29, 2014. Virgie Mae Hubbard was born May 21, 1929 in Wewoka, OK to parents William and Zado Upton. She married Emmett Hubbard in 1944 in Oklahoma. Shortly after the marriage they moved to California. They began their work in the ministry in 1953. Traveling evangelist then Pastored in Salinas for 18 years, Pentecostal Tabernacle Pastored in Merced, Calvary Temple for 19 years and retired in 1994.
Our beloved mother, Verla Mae Purvis, passed away on April 30, 2014 with her family by her side. Verla was born in Modesto, CA to Harvey and Anna Kline on June 3, 1922.
Thelma Gertrude (Sandland) Carpenter was born in the log homestead house built by her father near Grygla, Minnesota. Her Norwegian immigrant parents were Saamund and Anne Sandland. She spoke Norwegian as a child. She graduated from Thief River Falls (MN) High School and later attended secretarial school in Minneapolis, MN. In both places she worked as a housemaid in exchange for room and board.
Lin Hugh Griffith, a Turlock attorney whose career spanned five decades and included extensive community involvement, died at Hospice House in Hughson, CA on March 8, 2014 at the age of 90. The cause of death was heart and lung failure.
George Otis Dudley 80, died peacefully in his sleep on Good Friday April 18, at Turlock Nursing Center after suffering the long illness of Alzheimer's disease. Barbara was born August 19, 1923 in Portland, Oregon to Vere Painter & Clare Thamann. She was a daughter of an Army Colonel. She graduated high school in Philadelphia, PA, then attended Penn State University and graduated with a degree in home economics.
Norma was born in Oklahoma in 1934 to George and Cordelia House. At the age of 12, she and her family settled in Hughson area where she lived until her passing at the age of 79. She enjoyed 47 years of marriage with her husband Raymond Wooten before his passing in 1999 and together they raised three sons. Norma was a member of The Church of Christ and enjoyed painting and singing.
Josey passed away at age 100 with her daughters and caretaker at her side. Teresa's Tender Loving Care had been a wonderful home for her since September, 2013.
Louie Cabral, 82, of Turlock passed away on April 17, 2014. He was born May of 1931 on the family ranch to Antonio and Agusta Cabral. He enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Cabral's Backhoe Service for 35 years. He was a lifetime member of Turlock V.F.W. and he volunteered for the area Festas.

Ron "Ronnie" Enos passed away peacefully on April 4, 2014 in his sleep at home after a short battle with cancer surrounded by those he loved. Ron and his wife Pam resided at "Enos Ranch" here in Mariposa for the past 12 years after moving from Oakdale where he lived for 26 years. He retired from Lawrence Livermore National Lab in 2001, as a Lab Assistant. Ron also operated Big Oak Stables for 17 years in Cull Canyon.
Marilyn Davenport passed away peacefully in Turlock on July 31st after a brave battle with lung disease. She was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN, then moved to California in 1950 upon marrying Henry Morrett and earning her nursing degree. She worked in hospitals for 19 years and another 10 years as an aerospace industry nurse in southern California. She highly valued her work as an ER nursing supervisor and enjoyed the variety of patients she served. Julia was born in Chicago, IL to Samuel and Nanajon Yohannan and passed away in Turlock at the age of 85. She settled in Turlock at the age of fifteen and graduated from Turlock High School. In 1957 she married Brad Sleeper and they shared 57 years of marriage. Julia was passionate about her Assyrian community and actively involved in and treasurer for the Assyrian American Civic Club of Turlock. One of her favorite activities was playing "Takhta", backgammon. She also loved to read and play bridge.

Edward was born in Turlock where he lived all his life. He graduated from Turlock High School and drove truck for over 30 years. Ed enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR and getting together with friends. He loved his daughters and one grandson dearly.
