Our mother, Jean Bjorklund, passed in to glory on Sunday, September 25, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend Vider (July 2007.) She is survived by her daughter Cynthia and son-in-law Jeff Boster of Turlock, granddaughter Jennifer (husband Keith) Harlow, great grandchildren Kylie Anne and Aleck Jeffrey of Virginia, cat Fritz, and her honoring daughter Ann Canen and family, of Oakdale. She was retired from AT&T and a member of First Baptist Church of Turlock.

Arlene Mary Waterson

Mary Arlene Stiles was born May 31, 1927 in Arkansas, the first child of Joe Johnston Stiles and Ida Estelle Badgett. The Stiles family moved to Briscoe, Texas where her sister Louise was born. They later moved to Omak, Washington and lived there for a time until they moved to Modesto. After High School, Arlene worked as the Boy Scout office secretary in Modesto.

Jack was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who will be missed more than words can say. He enjoyed selling his oranges so he could talk with everyone who stopped by. He also enjoyed bowling and taking care of his yard. Jack bravely fought a long hard battle with caner until his death.

Odessa Benson, 85, of Turlock passed away of natural causes at Brandel Manor in Turlock on Thursday, September 29th. She was born in Texarkana, AR, to Charles and Alma Satterfield in 1926. She settled in Turlock in 1958. She was a member of Turlock American Legion Post 88, Women's Auxiliary and Modesto Four Wheelers. Odessa enjoyed gardening and camping. She loved being with family.

Kenneth E. Falkenberg

Kenneth Falkenberg, of Turlock, passed away at home after a two year battle with cancer. Kenneth was born in Caldwell, Kansas to Bert and Rita Falkenberg. He attended school in Claremore, OK before moving to California at age 12. He attended Hawthorne School and Turlock High School. After high school he served in the National Guard and worked 32 years for Hartvickson Poultry. He became a self-employed poultry hauler for a total of 56 years before retiring in 2000. Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching football. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.

Carmendale Fernandes, 90, of Stockton passed away on October 15, 2014. She was born August 25, 1924, in Turlock to parents, J.C. and Clara Fernandes. Carmendale was raised in Turlock, attended local schools and graduated from Turlock High School. She then attended San Jose State College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education and later completed her Master's degree. Carmendale taught school in Sunnyvale from 1946-1988. Austin Cowan

Austin Cowan, 85, loved BBQ, ragtime tunes, joking around, and reminiscing about working for "Ma Bell." Born in Hope, NM, to Vera and Audi Cowan, he came of age during the Great Depression. A hard working and determined man, he made a career with the Bell Telephone Company helping advance our nation's communication infrastructure. Austin had an adventurous life with many chapters.
