After a valiant 6 year battle against cancer, Mom left this life on September
Our mother, Jean Bjorklund, passed in to glory on Sunday, September 25, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend Vider (July 2007.) She is survived by her daughter Cynthia and son-in-law Jeff Boster of Turlock, granddaughter Jennifer (husband Keith) Harlow, great grandchildren Kylie Anne and Aleck Jeffrey of Virginia, cat Fritz, and her honoring daughter Ann Canen and family, of Oakdale. She was retired from AT&T and a member of First Baptist Church of Turlock.
Horacio Adolfo "Chitos" Velasquez passed away due to a car accident in Tracy, CA. Chitos was a day away from turning 22 years young. He loved to be with his family. He is survived by his parents and two sisters. He was and will always remain a loving grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, brother and son. He will always be missed and live through his family
Gordon was born on February 12, 1936 to Edward and Mabel Peterson in Turlock, and passed away on October 4, 2011 after a brief illness.
Mary Arlene Stiles was born May 31, 1927 in Arkansas, the first child of Joe Johnston Stiles and Ida Estelle Badgett. The Stiles family moved to Briscoe, Texas where her sister Louise was born. They later moved to Omak, Washington and lived there for a time until they moved to Modesto. After High School, Arlene worked as the Boy Scout office secretary in Modesto.
Jack was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who will be missed more than words can say. He enjoyed selling his oranges so he could talk with everyone who stopped by. He also enjoyed bowling and taking care of his yard. Jack bravely fought a long hard battle with caner until his death.
Laura passed away in Hilmar at the age of 94. Laura was born in Arnesen, Rocky Point, Minnesota to Bernard and Agnes Arnesen. She graduated from business college in Duluth, Minnesota and moved to San Francisco. Laura worked as a personal secretary to the President of Garnett Young & Co. After marrying her Navy husband Arthur, they lived in Oakland for 12 years, then moved to Livermore where Arthur worked.
Robert M. Caires peacefully passed away quietly at Paramount Senior Living in Turlock at the age of 84. Born July 19, 1930 in Oakland, Bob served 4 years in the US Naval Reserve from 1948 – 1952, during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge, he attended business colleges, Foothill and San Jose State Colleges. He joined the Internal Revenue Service as an agent in 1960 where he worked for 36 years until retiring. Joel Allen Burnett passed away Thursday after a long illness. One of five children and born in Turlock, CA to John and Joan Burnett, Joel lived his entire life in the Central Valley. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Huber. Arlene is survived by her children: George Huber, Gloria McCormick, Linda Stopher, William Huber, Robert Huber, Mary Vieira; and 19 grandchildren. She has one surviving sibling, Kenneth Troutman, whom she loved dearly.
Anne Shaw, 80, of Turlock, CA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 13, 2014. Born in Oronogo, Missouri August 27, 1934 to Carroll and Maude Weathers, she spent much of her childhood in Bisbee Arizona before her family moved to Los Angeles following the death of her father. There, She graduated from Manual Arts High School, and attended college at Bob Jones University in South Carolina, where she began dating Donald Shaw. They married in 1955, and settled in Turlock in 1962 after Donald had completed his Masters at UCLA .
Lucille Joyce Wells died December 7, 2014, at Brandel Manor in Turlock. Joyce, as she was known to her family and friends, was born February 4, 1933, to Henry and Marie Schoonhoven (nee Hoogeveen) in Steen, MN. At the age of 9, she moved with her family to Ripon, CA, graduating from Ripon High School, to begin work as a secretary and later an office manager for various locally owned companies.

Joanne Miller (75) of Lathrop, CA, passed away November 29, 2014 in San Diego, CA. Born August 14, 1939 in Placerville, CA, She is predeceased by her parents, Robert A. Rushing of Tuolumne, CA and Alice D. Thomas of Stockton, CA, and her late husband, S. Ross Miller of Turlock, CA. Joanne went to Stockton College and graduated in 1957.
