Donald Sheridan, 79, of Groveland, passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father at home with his family by his side. Don was born in Stockton to Alice and Lloyd Sheridan. He played football at St. Mary's High School in 1950, the year they won the championship. He was frozen in the California National Guard, training young recruits in Stockton during the Korean Conflict. Linda Lee Beckhart

Linda Beckhart, 59, of Ceres, lost her long battle with cancer at Memorial Medical Center. The daughter of William and Doris Mason, Linda was born in Sebring, Ohio and began her schooling there. When she was 11 years old the family moved to Compton, Calif. They lived in Southern California where she met and married Robert Beckhart in December of 1970. Linda had a gift for working with numbers and worked as bookkeeper for 25 years: for Kraft Foods and for Central Valley Auto Body Shop.

Ben Lopez, 79, died suddenly on Wednesday at his residence in Newman. Mr. Lopez was born and raised in San Leandro. He enlisted in the National Guard in 1951, and reenlisted in the United States Army in 1952. He earned several medals, including Army Occupation Medal (Germany), Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.
