Harley was born and raised in Turlock, California. He enjoyed reading, and making people laugh. He had a great sense of humor. He also enjoyed music, his favorite was Stevie Nicks. Harley had a heart of gold, a smile that lit up the room and was like a father to his nieces and nephews. In the end he gave the gift of life. He donated organs and saved 3 lives.
The lord has called Martha home. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her husband Donald Ruether, daughters Diana Cuevas, Monica Maxey, and Lindsey Ruether, granddaughter Makenzie Mason, parents Javier and Maria Elena Fuentes of Turlock, siblings; Maria Rubio of Paso Robles, Marisela Carranza of Denair, Robert Fuentes of Winton, Rosa Echeverria of Atwater, and Javier Fuentes Jr. of Livingston.
Terry Lee Antonides was born in Michigan. He was in the Air Force stationed in Atwater califiornia. He lived in California for over 40 years. He also lived in Arizona for two years. Terry retired from Leprino Cheese Company in Tracy, Ca.
Connie Guinn, 77, of Turlock, passed away after a painful battle with cancer. Connie was born in Canton, Ohio to Ray and Agnes (Allen) Rehfus. She attended schools in Ohio and moved to Texas before settling in California. She served in the Air Force (WAC's). She loved all kinds of sports and faithfully supported her family members at their sporting events. She herself was an avid bowler. Since 1985 she has been a member of New Life Christian Center.
Ken Danielson was born and raised in Turlock where he attended school and then served in the Army Air Corp from 1942-1946. After attending Cal Poly he began his career and eventually became the Agricultural Commissioner for Contra Costa County.
Maxine, 87, passed away peacefully on June 30th at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, CA, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Oklahoma to Floyd and Argie Reddell; the 6th of 12 children. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 66 years, Harold L. Wadlington (2009) and all of her siblings except for one sister. She is survived by her 2 daughters; Joanie Lindquist (Harold) of Turlock, Jeannie Jensen (Gerry) of Turlock, and her sister, Norma Lee Gadberry of Caruthers, CA.
Eldora Schwab, 91, of Turlock, CA went peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on June 15, 2012. Born in Turlock in 1921, and graduating from Turlock High School, she attended Modesto Junior College and Samuel Merritt Hospital (RN course) in Oakland. Later, she also took courses at Columbia Bible College in South Carolina.
Jim Parker, 69, a longtime resident of Turlock, passed away at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House on Sunday June 24th 2012, after a lengthy illness. Jim was born in Berkley, CA and spent his childhood years in Hayward, CA.
Gilbert E. Townsend, 85 of Turlock, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his loving wife, Sara, by his side. Gilbert was born and raised in Minnesota, and moved to California in 1962. Formerly of Newark, Ca, Gilbert came to Turlock in 1987, at which time he became an active member of the Berkeley Ave Baptist Church and has remained a faithful member until his passing.
Charlene was born in Ashland, Kentucky to Charles and Addie Lawson in 1920 and is one of six children. She spent her childhood living in several West Virginia towns and graduated from Parkersburg High School. If you asked her where she was from she'd always say she was proud to be a West Virginia mountaineer.
Mavis Kronberg, 92, died peacefully in Turlock. Mavis was born in Trade Lake, Wisconsin, the oldest of five siblings to Carl and Esther (Larson) Brask. She was raised in rural Wisconsin, earned a teaching certificate, and taught in a one-room schoolhouse. In 1948 she married Joe Kronberg and moved to the Kronberg farm in Hilmar where they worked side by side and raised four boys.
Billy was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Harvey and Lillian Mills and passed away after a sudden illness at the age of 86. He was the second of three children. His family settled in Hughson and Billy graduated from Hughson High School and excelled in basketball and baseball. He also attended MJC and then went on to proudly serve in the Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. Billy was a Medical Technician with the 121st Evac Hospital. Leonard Mendonca, 80, of Turlock passed away suddenly at home on June 24, 2015. Leonard was born to Caetano and Adeline Mendonca in Modesto, Ca. He attended Roselawn School and graduated from Turlock High School in 1951. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as an electronics technician and was the DJ on board the destroyer U.S.S. McKean. He loved music, HAM Radio, dancing, and sports. He was an outstanding fast-pitch softball pitcher, an avid Oakland A's, Oakland Raiders, and Golden State Warriors fan. Helen C. Smith, age 97, of Hughson, California passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Samaritan Village. She was born November 8, 1917 in Jamestown, Rhode Island to Daniel and Margaret Murray. She graduated High School from Newport High School in Rhode Island before receiving her Bachelors Degree. She married Irving E. Smith November 9, 1942 in New York City. She was a Pediatric Nurse for 35 years. They lived in New York City, Long Island, and San Diego before settling in Hughson twelve years ago. Helen enjoyed golfing, ballroom dancing, and bridge.
