James D. Petros, of Turlock, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Friday afternoon, August 24, 2012, with his family by his side. He was born in Chicago, Ill. to parents James Esa and Linda Radtke Petros on January 28, 1939.
Randy Washburn, 57, of Hilmar, California, passed away August 19, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Merced. He was born February 10, 1955 in Turlock. He worked for N & S Tractor in Hilmar for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and playing the guitar.
Robert Jensen, 71, of Modesto, passed away peacefully at his home. Robert was born in Stockton, CA to Olaf and Florence (Pratt) Jensen. He grew up on a dairy farm in Stevinson where they grew their own feed. A 1959 graduate of Hilmar High School, Robert worked for many years driving heavy equipment leveling land for farming. He enjoyed camping and fishing. Favorite spots included the Melones and Pardee Lake Reservoirs. Celestino "Tino" Calderon, age 66, entered into Rest on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock, followed by a Chapel Service at 6:00pm. Internment will be held on Saturday, August 25th, 10:00 am at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock.
Esther R. Case, 72 of Hilmar, passed away peacefully, with loved ones holding her hands, on August 18, 2012 following a courageous battle with cancer. Esther had a beautiful and happy spirit. She was born in Turlock, CA October 13, 1939 to Harvey and Nellie MacDannald. Esther was the twin sister of Dr. Harry MacDannald, and sister to eight other siblings, she was always surrounded by love and laughter.
Albert "Abe" Abraham, 88, of Modesto died peacefully Sunday, August 5, 2012 surrounded by his family. Albert was born July 28, 1924 in Chicago, IL, grew up in Gary, Indiana, and has lived in the Modesto area for over 65 years.
Inez was born in Los Banos to Joseph and Rose Puccinelli and passed away at the age of 85. She married Manuel B. Freitas at a ceremony performed at St. Thomas Cathedral in Reno on June 10, 1950. She was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her children on the family dairy in Stevinson where she lived from 1950 until her passing. Inez enjoyed traveling to Santa Cruz and Lake Tahoe and cooking Italian food. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Born July 19, 1929 in Turlock California, he passed on May 2, 2015. He attended Tegner Elementary and was a graduate of Turlock High School. As a young man he owned a hay hauling business with his brother. He married Lorraine Lewis in 1954, and remained happily married for 61 years. He later worked in construction and in 1976 he began JF Medeiros dairy construction company with his sons. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church of Turlock and a member of YMI of Hilmar.
Ingie was born Ingebjørg Odny Olsen, in Kristiansund, Norway. She lived in Norway until emigrating to the United States in 1954 at the age of 31. She and her husband, Nils Klevmyr, were married in June of 1944, during World War II in occupied Norway. There first son, Rolf, was born shortly after the war in November of 1946.
Carlene Anna Voight was born in Turlock, CA to Karl and Bertha Whipkey and lived almost her entire life in Stanislaus County. Raised with her two brothers Ronald and Richard, the only time Carlene lived outside the county was for 14 months when her family lived in Alaska.
