William Lawlis Pace died peacefully in his sleep Monday morning, April 23, 2012. He had celebrated his 103rd birthday February 27th. Lawlis was born in 1909 in Burkburnett, Texas. He was the second son of Myrtle and William Pace. He is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Onetia and their infant son, Daphael Gene, his parents, sister Audrey Erwin, and two brothers, Marvin and Howard.
Vivian I. Johnson passed the morning of April 10, 2012. She was the last surviving sibling of 8 children.
James Alvernaz was born April 22, 1947 in Turlock, California to Alfred Alvernaz and Bernice Alvernaz. He attended Turlock High school and Modesto Junior College. He worked at Turlock Christian School and Turlock Transit as a bus driver. He was a bus driver for 23 years. James (Jim) also was a farmer and grew pumpkins, watermelon , and hay. In 2010 he married his loving wife Marilyn Scott. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, coaching, watching baseball, and service to his community. Jim belonged to Masonic Lodge #395 -Turlock and was a member of Eastern Star in Ceres.
Pauline Myers, 80, passed away April 20. Born and raised in Turlock by parents Nettie and Thomas Mortimer, Pauline will be known as a proud mother, good friend, and loving wife. Pauline loved telling stories of growing up in Turlock with her sister Donna (Johnson) and brother William (Mortimer). She graduated from Turlock High School class of 1950 and later earned her Registered Nursing Degree from Modesto Junior College. She worked as a nurse for about 10 years. Jack Bennett, 92, of Turlock, passed away at Covenant Village Care Center in Turlock. He lived in the Bay Area, Walnut Creek, and San Andreas before settling in Modesto in 1960 In 1941, he married Dorothy M. Wigell, and during WWII Jack served as an U.S. Army Tech Sergeant. . Bill Green passed away in Marysville, Washington after a long battle with Cancer. Completing his Vietnam tour with the United States Army in 1969, he began a 30 year career in the electronics distribution industry. His work took him to Michigan, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Washington, Oregon and California. He spent 12 years in Turlock. While living there he held the position of Business Manager for The Turlock Salvation Army.

Violet was born in Idaho Falls, ID and moved to Arkansas as an infant where she spent her childhood before settling in California at the age of 13. Kevin Richard Stach, 75, of Turlock, passed away at his home on April 12, 2105. He was born July 4, 1939 in Nezperce, Idaho. After graduating from high school in Olympia, Washington he came to California and worked at the General Motors plant in Fairfield. When the plant closed and moved to Missouri he relocated there and finished his career with GM. After retiring Mr. Stach moved to Turlock. Kevin was a dune buggy enthusiast and loved working on Volkswagens. He volunteered at the Turlock V.F.W. and enjoyed cooking for their dinners and events.

Her parents, Gus Goza and Ruth Goza preceded her in death a number of years ahead of her. She leaves behind her husband Dave Zollinger of Turlock, CA; a son Robert Zollinger of Modesto, CA; a daughter Ruth Zollinger of Monterey, CA; and two grandchildren David G. Zollinger and Kara Zollinger. All of the family will indeed miss her. They so deeply loved their wife, mother and grandmother.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elsie in 2010, and a brother, Wallace Carlson. He is survived by his son Steve (Carmen) Silva of Delhi, granddaughter Ally Silva, and many extended family and friends.
Monica is survived by her three children Roxanne Jimenez, Lawrence Jimenez, Anthony and Martinez; and six grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Monique Martinez.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Fox; children, Dr. Donald (Brenda) Fox, Douglas (Kim) Fox, Richard (Sheri) Fox, Jean Costa, Jamie (James) Myers, Janae Costa, Justin (Ashley) Costa, as well as 7 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind siblings, June Vandergriff, Marian (John) Alves, Shirley (Kay) Kajiwara, David (Sandra) Fox, and Michael (Beth) Fox.
Cindy is survived by nephew Kevin Shute; nieces Becky Mcevoy and Nellie Shute; 8 great nieces and nephews; 17 great great-nieces and nephews. Cindy is preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Lois Brownlow; sister Penny Irene Shute and niece Lisa Sears.
Barbara was born on the Lundell homestead in May 1919, to Henry and Lydia Lundell. She and her three brothers, Kenneth, Jerry and Glenn grew up on the ranch, riding in horse and buggies to and from school and church. They also formed a small band, since music was such an important part of their youth.
