Geraldine A. Johnson, 71 of Turlock, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center with her family by her side. Geri was born in Crows Landing, CA to Lawrence and Adeline Rocha. She lived in this area throughout her life, graduating from Hilmar High in 1958. Geri took great pride in this accomplishment, as one of the first in her family to graduate high school. After graduation Geri continued her education, attending Valley Community College. A few years later in 1967, Geri began what would become a life long career, when she began working at Johnson's Insurance. Just 10 years later ...
Born to Marlo and Martin Olson. He passed away on March 25 in Martinez CA. Harvey was a member of the V.F.W. Post 95059 in Turlock. He also served in the Korean War. He was a graduate of the University of Washington and had a B.S. in Forestry.
Mary Perry, 99, of Modesto passed away on Saturday, March 24 in Turlock. She was born in Hayward, CA to Antone and Mary Damas in 1912. She had lived in Denair, Hughson and Modesto since 1917. Mary had served during WWII in the Army Air Corps WAC and later ran a dairy with her husband and children for 29 years. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hughson, SPRSI #96, YLI #193, UPPEC #56, Luso-American #2950, Turlock VFW Post 5059 the Ladies Auxiliary and the Altar Society. She sacrificed her life for the church and family.
Jamie "Jay" McKaughan, 40, of Ceres, California. On Sunday, March 25, 2012 he lost his battle with cancer at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock. He was born and raised in Modesto, California and attended Davis High School. He was a sales manager and a advertising executive. He was an artist and wrote poetry, which he won awards for, and he also enjoyed drawing. In addition to his artistic talents, he won awards through Major League Gaming (MLG) for his online gaming abilities. Jay was a loving husband, father and brother and will be missed by all.
David Tarone, 54, of Denair passed away on Saturday, March 24. He was born in Turlock to Natale and Dolores Tarone in 1957. David was raised in Hilmar and graduated from Hilmar High School. He had lived in Turlock and settled in Denair in the late 90's. He loved to build and race cars for quarter mile drag racing. He also enjoyed model trains and RC cars and airplanes.
Inez was born in Los Banos to Joseph and Rose Puccinelli and passed away at the age of 85. She married Manuel B. Freitas at a ceremony performed at St. Thomas Cathedral in Reno on June 10, 1950. She was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her children on the family dairy in Stevinson where she lived from 1950 until her passing. Inez enjoyed traveling to Santa Cruz and Lake Tahoe and cooking Italian food. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Born July 19, 1929 in Turlock California, he passed on May 2, 2015. He attended Tegner Elementary and was a graduate of Turlock High School. As a young man he owned a hay hauling business with his brother. He married Lorraine Lewis in 1954, and remained happily married for 61 years. He later worked in construction and in 1976 he began JF Medeiros dairy construction company with his sons. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church of Turlock and a member of YMI of Hilmar.
Ingie was born Ingebjørg Odny Olsen, in Kristiansund, Norway. She lived in Norway until emigrating to the United States in 1954 at the age of 31. She and her husband, Nils Klevmyr, were married in June of 1944, during World War II in occupied Norway. There first son, Rolf, was born shortly after the war in November of 1946.
Carlene Anna Voight was born in Turlock, CA to Karl and Bertha Whipkey and lived almost her entire life in Stanislaus County. Raised with her two brothers Ronald and Richard, the only time Carlene lived outside the county was for 14 months when her family lived in Alaska.
