Ruth Frisch, 92, of Turlock, passed away peacefully at her home. She
Julia Azevedo Da Silva passed away at Emanuel Medical Center with her family at her side at the age of 67. She was born in San Jorge, Acores, to parents Jose Vitorino Da Silva and Maria Azevedo. On October 6, 1962 she married Humberto Manuel Da Silva. They came to America with their two daughters and finally settling in Gustine, California where she has resided for the last 33 years.

In 1952 she married Charles Ray Taylor and they traveled the world with the U.S. Air Force. Walter Silva, 70, of Turlock passed away at home on Sunday, July 24. He was born and raised in Turlock. He had attended Mitchell School and worked as a heavy equipment operator for George Silva Dairy and Souza Spreading. He had attended House of Prayer in Oakdale. He was a member of the Out of Bounders RV Club and also liked gardening, fishing, raising animals and entertaining. He also was a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts. God and family were his life.
Julie, "Dollie", de Kelaita, 76, passed away at her Turlock home after a long illness. She was born to Kezakia and Julia De kelaita in Flint, Michigan. She attended schools in Michigan before moving to Turlock in 1945 at the age of 11. She graduated from Turlock High School. After high school she moved to the Bay Area, where she lived for nearly 50 years. Julie worked as a travel agent and enjoyed extensive travelling around the world. She loved animals and cared for many of them. Her favorite dog "Patches" recently died after 15 years of companionship.

Helen Ann Erickson Nelson was born in San Jose CA in 1930. She lived in the Santa Cruz area until grammar school when the family moved to Turlock. She went to Turlock schools, graduating from Turlock high School in 1948. After graduation she worked for her father at Erickson Auto Parts. She met Chuck Nelson through church activities. They were married in 1953 at the home of her parents, Roy and Ethel Erickson. They had two children, David Nelson and Denise Brenda both of Turlock. William R. "Bill" Henley, 76, died Tuesday, Oct. 14 in Modesto after an extended illness.
Kenneth Falkenberg, of Turlock, passed away at home after a two year battle with cancer. Kenneth was born in Caldwell, Kansas to Bert and Rita Falkenberg. He attended school in Claremore, OK before moving to California at age 12. He attended Hawthorne School and Turlock High School. After high school he served in the National Guard and worked 32 years for Hartvickson Poultry. He became a self-employed poultry hauler for a total of 56 years before retiring in 2000. Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching football. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.
Carmendale Fernandes, 90, of Stockton passed away on October 15, 2014. She was born August 25, 1924, in Turlock to parents, J.C. and Clara Fernandes. Carmendale was raised in Turlock, attended local schools and graduated from Turlock High School. She then attended San Jose State College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education and later completed her Master's degree. Carmendale taught school in Sunnyvale from 1946-1988. She was the coach of the debate and speech teams during her tenure at Sunnyvale High School and was nationally known for her work in the field of speech and ...
Greg Fairbairn passed away in Modesto on October 16, 2014 at the age of 59. Greg was born on July 3rd, 1955 to James and Blanche Fairbairn in Sacramento, CA. He has been a resident of the Turlock area for the past 31 years.
Austin Cowan, 85, loved BBQ, ragtime tunes, joking around, and reminiscing about working for "Ma Bell." Born in Hope, NM, to Vera and Audi Cowan, he came of age during the Great Depression. A hard working and determined man, he made a career with the Bell Telephone Company helping advance our nation's communication infrastructure. Austin had an adventurous life with many chapters.
