Rose Deus, 80, of Hilmar passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House with her family by her side. Rose was born in Berkeley to Manuel and Maria Loura. She attended Berkeley area schools, graduating from Berkeley High School and, choosing to further her education, she attended a few college courses.

Grant Fox, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away after a short illness at age 78 on Dec. 19, 2010 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.
Born in Turlock at the Collins Hospital, Grant, except for when he was in the U.S. Air Force, lived in Delhi until 1999, at which time he and his wife, Alice, moved to Turlock.

Earline Lankford, 79, passed away unexpectedly at her home. She was born in Osceola, Ark. to Earl and Beatrice H. Liles. Fred was born and raised in Chicago, Ill. before moving to Pomona in 1960, and settling in Stanislaus County in 1995. He served in the United States Army during World War II. His interests included trains and fire engines, he was also an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling all around the United States.

Richard Allen Root

Richard Allen Root, 89, died September 18, 2014, at Elness Convalescent in Turlock. He was born March 21, 1925, in Los Angeles, California, to Frank and Emma (Berger) Root. At the age of 18 enlisted in the United States Army in the 558th Artillery Battalion. After his Honorable Discharge he settled in Turlock and attended Full Gospel Tabernacle before attending Victory Christian Church in Hilmar. He worked 25 years for Nulaid then retired from Martinez Plywood after 12 years.
