She was a homemaker for 63 years and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Turlock.

Melville Andre Christiansen

Melville Andre Christiansen, 88, passed away Dec. 5, 2010. He was the beloved husband of the late Beverly (1995), devoted father of Pamela Christiansen-Colon, loving grandfather of Olivia Wetherbee and Vincent (Brodi) Wetherbee, cherished great grandfather of Wyatt and Evangeline Wetherbee, and fond uncle and great uncle. He was also a proud WW II Army veteran.

Otheo “LeRoy” Choat

LeRoy Choat, 62, of Turlock passed away at home with his family at his side on Friday, Dec. 3. He was born in Geary, Okla. to Otheo and Lula Choat in 1947. LeRoy lived in Linden, Tenn. and Turlock throughout his life. He was a master mechanic and at the end of his career he owned Tom's Creek Boat Motor Repair in Tennessee. He enjoyed gold panning and was an outdoorsman. He was a master at making moonshine.

Floyd David Anderson, 78, of Ceres was born May 13, 1932, in Wagoner, Okla. and passed away Nov. 29, 2010, in Castro Valley.
He was a millwright worker for 30 years.

Bob Chance, 86, of Denair passed away at Brandel Manor in Turlock on Tuesday. He was born in Juneau, AK to Pearl Phoebe (Swanson) and Oliver W. Chance in 1924. James “Jake” Katsu Kirihara

Jake (James Katsu) Kirihara was born in Turlock and passed on to his eternal rest peacefully at his home in Livingston. Jake proudly served his country - volunteering for the U.S. Army during his family and community's internment in Amache, Colo. - serving in the historically noted 442nd Combat Infantry Group as a Staff Sergeant. Bachint Kaur Uppal

Bachint Kaur Uppal, 97, of Merced passed away at home, in the comforting arms of her beloved son. Bachint was born in India, and was married at the young age of 13 to her late husband, Swaran Uppal, whom preceded her in death in 2009.

Bachint and Swaran came to live in the U.S. briefly in 1980, only to return to Afghanistan a few years later. She and Swaran returned to the U.S. in 1995, at which time they made the Merced area their home.

Passed away in his sleep on August 23, 2014 at the age of 93. Gordon was born in Nebraska on October 8, 1920 to Martin and Sena Petersen. He was the oldest of ten children.
