Mark Richesin, 50, of Lake Don Pedro, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Merced.
Richard Lear was born to Duke and Delphine Lear in Pascagoula, Miss. The 11th of 12 children, Richard learned early about the value of hard work and the meaning of family which served him well through his life. Richard loved and served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army. After returning to Mississippi at the end of his service, Richard took a job as a carpenter and remained in that trade for 20 years.
Roy Perry Bethel, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend of many, passed away on Dec. 29, 2010 at the age of 84 from leukemia. Roy Bethel was a Turlock resident and community supporter for many years.

Wilfred "Fritz" Marson, 94, of Turlock passed away on Sunday, Jan. 2 at home with his family at his side. He was born in Shickley, Neb. to John and Mary Marson in 1916. In the late 40s, Wilfred moved to Turlock and lived here since then. He met Caroline Brown in the Sacred Heart choir, and they married in 1959. Christopher Bell, 80, of Turlock passed away at Emanuel Medical Center on Saturday, Jan. 1. He was born in Shanghai, China to Joseph and Nellie Bell in 1930. During WW II, Chris' family was captured in Shanghai and put in an internment camp. When Chris was 12, his family was brought to Detroit, Mich. through a POW exchange program. Shortly after coming to the United States, his family moved to San Jose, Calif. Chris worked for Lockheed Martin for 21 years before retiring in 1990. Charles Laskey, 87, of Modesto was born in Lowell, Mass. to William and Beulah Laskey. He passed away at Pacifica Senior Living in Modesto. He will be remembered in this area as a long time math teacher at Ceres High School. He also worked for many years as a volunteer at Memorial Hospital. Charles enjoyed playing tennis and bridge. He also served our country in the Army during World War II.
Vivian Raineri, 86, of Modesto, passed away at Hy-Lond Convalescent Hospital in Modesto. She was born in Roseburg, Ore. to Henry and Muriel McGuckin. The family moved to Napa, where Vivian completed her schooling and began her career as a journalist and author. She wrote for the Bay Area Bureau of the Peoples' World Newspaper. She was politically astute and active with the Women for Peace in Berkeley, where she lived most of her life. Vivian authored the book "The Red Angel," a biography of Elaine Yoneda, a lady who served time in an internment camp during World War II.
Violet Lynn, 82, of Turlock was born in Denair to John and Evelena Baptista. She was a lifelong resident of the Turlock area. She is survived by her daughter, Cathee Lynn of Turlock.

She was born in Medford, Ore. and graduated from Hilmar High School in 1958. She worked in data entry for 12 years and enjoyed crafts, art and crocheting.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Jesus Tapia, and three children: Jose M. (Sophia) Chavez of Turlock, Rosa (Juan Pablo) Vallejo of Turlock, and Jesus Ventura (Josefa Sanchez) of Turlock; 4 sisters, 2 brothers, and 7 grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

Mary Lois Bare, 91, of Hilmar, passed away at Turlock Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mary Lois was born in Arkansas to Julius and Thelma Wegel. She attended schools in Arkansas. After High School graduation she married Charles Bare, a Seaman with the Merchant Marine. They settled in California, first in the Bay Area and then in the Central Valley in 1968. They were married nearly 62 years when he passed away in 2005.
Rodrigo Jose Ortegaray beloved husband, father and grandfather went to be with Jesus this past Monday. Rodrigo was born in Managua, Nicaragua to Gustavo and Maria Ortegaray in August of 1954

Bobbie Cheves, 87, of Turlock passed away peacefully on February 18, 2015. Bobbie was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma. When she was young, her family moved to Pittsburg, CA. As a senior in high school, Bobbie moved to Modesto where she graduated from Modesto High School. She married Gene in 1947 and they raised their family in Ceres, CA. After retiring from the Telephone Company, Bobbie and Gene enjoyed traveling and line dancing. She spent the last several years of her life in Turlock, CA. Pete Stavrianoudakis, passed away last Saturday at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 28, 1936 to Pantelis and Maria Stavrianoudakis. He was a lifelong resident of Hilmar, where he attended grammar school and graduated from Hilmar High School. Pete was a farmer in Hilmar for most of his life and was involved with several community organizations including, Hilmar FFA, Valley Tractor Pullers Association, Hilmar Footbal Boosters and was a member of the Hilmar Lions Club since 1968. He was also a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Modesto.
