Anne Marie Boyd, 95, died April 16, 2011, at Covenant Village Care Center in Turlock.
She was born April 19, 1915, in Missouri and moved to Long Beach, Calif. as a young girl. She attended Woodbury College in Los Angeles and was assigned to the Naval Air Station in San Diego where she served in the WAVES for three years. After moving to Sacramento in 1947, she worked as a secretary and then as an administrative assistant to the State Director of Agriculture. She settled in Turlock 16 years ago. Our beloved "Nana" passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 7 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson following a short illness. A California native and long time Turlock resident, Gladys was active in the community with husband Bob and the Turlock Rural Fire Department Auxiliary. She later moved to Modesto residing at Standiford Place and will be missed by many friends. Carlos Rivas, 55, was born Oct. 10, 1956, in Mexicalli, Baja California, Mexico. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 12 years old. He attended Volta Elementary and Los Banos Jr. High. Charles Evert Cline, 87, has gone fishing in the sky. His final days were spent at home surrounded by family and friends who he had touched in some way throughout his memorable life.

David Earl Persons, 73, of Florence, Ore., passed away after a brief illness on May 6. He was born on Aug. 26, 1937 to Earl and Viola Persons in Superior, Wis. At a very young age his family moved to Nevada, where they settled in the small town of Fernley . He attended the University of Nevada, Reno, before attending school to become a mortician. David worked as a mortician for nearly 45 years before retiring to Florence, Ore. in 1999.

Freda Lundell, 88, of Hilmar, passed away on Sunday. She was a member of Berea Lutheran Church in Hilmar and enjoyed bowling, camping and fishing.

John Brereton Allard

John Allard, 85, of Turlock, passed away at Covenant Village Care Center.
He was a lifelong Californian, born in Willows to Howard and Louise Allard. John attended schools in Willows and graduated from Willows High School in 1943. He served in the Army in World War II and received a Purple Heart for his injuries during the Battle of the Bulge. Dorothy Boggeri, 94, of Hughson, passed away Friday at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, with her family by her side.
Dorothy was born to Frank and Rhoda Ferriera at home in Hughson on Christmas Eve in 1916. Dorothy lived in the Hughson area her entire life. After graduating from Hughson High School in 1935, she was married in 1938 to Charles Boggeri. Shirley McKibben, 82, of Turlock, went home to be with the Lord she loved at her daughters' home after battling congestive heart failure for over a year.
Shirley was born to Rev. and Mrs. Harlow Arms in Egan, S.D. in 1928. She attended and graduated from White High School in 1946, and was married to her sweetheart of two years, Donald McKibben, in May of 1947.

Louis C. Davis, 84, died April 8 in Yuma, Ariz. He was born in Mclean, Texas in 1926 and grew up in Blackfork, Ark. He moved to Turlock in 1960, where he worked and raised his family until he retired in 1996. Linda Hildenbrand Marshall

Linda Mae Marshall, 65, of Turlock, passed away on Tuesday, April 19 at home with her family at her side. Linda was born in Lodi to Marvin and Ruth Hildenbrand in 1945. She was raised in Modesto and graduated from Downey High School. In 1975, she married Chuck Marshall and they raised three children: Neil, Marlee and Marquis. Linda worked for the Hilmar and Turlock school districts as a computer technician. She was a member of The Rock in Turlock and Turlock Quilting Guild. She enjoyed computers, painting and quilting.
