William Hopkins, 66, of Denair, passed away at Memorial Medical Center on Friday. He was born in Indianapolis, Ind. to John and Willie Hopkins. He grew up and went to school in Indianapolis. It was in Indiana where he met Shirley Brown and they were married in 1964. Together they raised two children. William and Shirley moved to California in 1980, and settled in Denair. He worked as a mechanic for Garton Ford Tractor for 30 years. William was a generous, fun-loving man who enjoyed meeting and talking with people. He also enjoyed the casinos. He will be greatly missed.
Cheryl Marie Dixon, 47, of Turlock, was born on Aug. 14, 1963 in Monticello, Iowa and passed away on Oct. 7, 2010 in Hughson, Calif.
Lewis "Butch" Donald Huffman passed away on Oct. 5, 2010 at his home in Turlock at the age of 61.

Nora Maldonado, 74, of Turlock passed away on Monday at Doctor's Medical Center. She was born in Talihina, Okla. to Leon and Ruth Jordon in 1936. She had lived in Southern California, Salem, Ore. and Redwood City, Calif. before settling in Turlock. She worked for Tri Valley Growers for over 20 years. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was always on the go.
Sharon was born in Turlock to Jess and Frances Lopes in 1960. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Sharon enjoyed camping on the beach, spending time at the ocean and cooking, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her father, Jess Lopes of Turlock; son, Anthony Ramirez; sisters, Janet (Mark) Davis of Turlock and Jackie (James) Davis of Ceres; one niece and one nephew.
Kenneth Falkenberg, of Turlock, passed away at home after a two year battle with cancer. Kenneth was born in Caldwell, Kansas to Bert and Rita Falkenberg. He attended school in Claremore, OK before moving to California at age 12. He attended Hawthorne School and Turlock High School. After high school he served in the National Guard and worked 32 years for Hartvickson Poultry. He became a self-employed poultry hauler for a total of 56 years before retiring in 2000. Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching football. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.
Carmendale Fernandes, 90, of Stockton passed away on October 15, 2014. She was born August 25, 1924, in Turlock to parents, J.C. and Clara Fernandes. Carmendale was raised in Turlock, attended local schools and graduated from Turlock High School. She then attended San Jose State College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education and later completed her Master's degree. Carmendale taught school in Sunnyvale from 1946-1988. She was the coach of the debate and speech teams during her tenure at Sunnyvale High School and was nationally known for her work in the field of speech and ...
Greg Fairbairn passed away in Modesto on October 16, 2014 at the age of 59. Greg was born on July 3rd, 1955 to James and Blanche Fairbairn in Sacramento, CA. He has been a resident of the Turlock area for the past 31 years.
Austin Cowan, 85, loved BBQ, ragtime tunes, joking around, and reminiscing about working for "Ma Bell." Born in Hope, NM, to Vera and Audi Cowan, he came of age during the Great Depression. A hard working and determined man, he made a career with the Bell Telephone Company helping advance our nation's communication infrastructure. Austin had an adventurous life with many chapters.
Kirk James passed away after a short illness at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. He grew up in Delhi, attended schools there and graduated from Livingston High School in 1976. Kirk worked for Norcal Nursery and for the last 2 ½ years worked for Wendell Trinkler Jr.
