Emma (Erma) Warda Morris, 83, passed away on Monday. She was born in San Francisco to Saul and Zevy Warda and graduated from Hughson High School and San Francisco State University. She taught school for over 50 years, mostly in Turlock. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Assyrian American Club of Turlock, and the California Retired Teachers Association.

Charles Scott, 42, of Ceres passed away unexpectedly on Friday. He was born in Modesto to James and Safronia Scott. He grew up in Modesto and graduated from Davis High School in 1986. After a short stint in the Navy, Chuck married Michelle Marckese. He had a great talent for working with masonry. He worked as a masonry worker, a warehouseman, and the last five years he was a truck driver. A fun-loving practical joker, Chuck loved to visit and tell stories with his friends. Arcadio Godinez-Sahagun, 77, of Turlock died Jan. 16. He was born in 1933 in Gauyabos, Jalisco, Mexico. He worked as a laborer for 65 years.

Jacquelyn "Jackie" Mickelson, much loved wife, mother and grandma, passed away peacefully on Monday after a long illness at age 80.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Richard; her children, Shelley and Arnie Bezemer of Turlock, and Randy and Cathy Mickelson of Pleasanton; grandchildren, Richard, Jessie and Emily; and several sisters and brothers.
A native of Missouri, Jackie and her husband settled in San Jose in the late 1950s to raise their family, and moved to Turlock in 2005. Known for her green thumb, Jackie enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her beloved family.

Letha Isborn, 90, of Turlock passed away at Emanuel Medical Center. Letha was born in Peel, Ark. to Charley and Annabelle Tabor. She was the third living child born to Annabelle and Charlie Tabor. She had many good memories of growing up in her small town, but left for California to marry her sweetheart Charles Isborn in 1940. Together they ran several different grocery stores, the last of which was located in Los Gatos, where Charles was a well known and sought-after purveyor of fine meats. Carlene Anna Voight was born in Turlock, CA to Karl and Bertha Whipkey and lived almost her entire life in Stanislaus County. Raised with her two brothers Ronald and Richard, the only time Carlene lived outside the county was for 14 months when her family lived in Alaska.
