Nora Maldonado, 74, of Turlock passed away on Monday at Doctor's Medical Center. She was born in Talihina, Okla. to Leon and Ruth Jordon in 1936. She had lived in Southern California, Salem, Ore. and Redwood City, Calif. before settling in Turlock. She worked for Tri Valley Growers for over 20 years. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was always on the go.

Sharon Marie Lopes

Sharon was born in Turlock to Jess and Frances Lopes in 1960. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Sharon enjoyed camping on the beach, spending time at the ocean and cooking, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her father, Jess Lopes of Turlock; son, Anthony Ramirez; sisters, Janet (Mark) Davis of Turlock and Jackie (James) Davis of Ceres; one niece and one nephew.

Roy Plant, 80, passed away Oct. 5 at his residence in Waterford, Calif.

He was born February 1930 in Broken Arrow, Okla., where he lived until he was 13 years old. He played football at Hayward High School in California. Kathryn Karp, 78, of Turlock, passed away at her home with her family at her side. She was born in San Francisco to Nick and Mary Loscutoff. Kathryn grew up there and attended San Francisco schools. Although she worked for 20 years as a medical transcriptionist, her great love was to entertain and cook for her family. She also did amazing work with the Chinese craft of Paper Tole.

James “Jim” Frank Ahlborn

James Frank Ahlborn passed on Wednesday at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.
He was born in San Mateo on May 23, 1952. He graduated from Pleasant Hill High in 1970 and earned a degree in Criminal Justice from the University of LaVerne. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Vandenberg Airbase in California. He was a proud member of the California Highway Patrol from 1977 until his medical retirement in 1993.
He is survived by his son, Brian Ahlborn and stepdaughter, Jenni Johnson, both of Livermore; his twin brother, Rick Ahlborn of Turlock, also retired ...

Marie Priza Dominguez, 95, of Turlock, died Wednesday. She was born in Yuma, Ariz. in 1915.
Marie was a homemaker for 70 years and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Turlock.
She is survived by her daughters, Rosie A. Perez of Turlock and Frances Robles of Los Angeles; sister, Evlalia of Arizona; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous great great grandchildren.

David Contreras Baca, 53, of Patterson, died Thursday at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock. He was born to the late Manuel and Elidia Baca in California. He was raised in Union City and lived in Fremont before he settled in Patterson three years ago. He was a jack of all trades and had a 30-year career as a mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Baca; children, Scott, Vincent, Jesse and Adrianna Baca, all of Patterson; and his brothers and sisters.

Richard Allen Root

Richard Allen Root, 89, died September 18, 2014, at Elness Convalescent in Turlock. He was born March 21, 1925, in Los Angeles, California, to Frank and Emma (Berger) Root. At the age of 18 enlisted in the United States Army in the 558th Artillery Battalion. After his Honorable Discharge he settled in Turlock and attended Full Gospel Tabernacle before attending Victory Christian Church in Hilmar. He worked 25 years for Nulaid then retired from Martinez Plywood after 12 years.
